--- He is real big on the smooth jazz circuit. I know a lot of people who think this guy is the greatest thing since bread was invented. I just want to find out how many people like smooth jazz. | |

My older sista is a great fan of his, we've seen him live once and that was about 6 years ago in the Harlem' Apollo. The man did alot of back-up sessions with Daryl Payne, Marc Sadane, Warp 9, and Jennifer Holiday. He also was in Arthur Baker's former group "Wally Jump Junior". I loved his version of "Where's The Love" with the beautiful Mica Paris. Very underrated vocalist indeed! he stand right up there with Luther Vandross & Freddie Jackson(vocaly). I love me some Will Downing ..Beautiful voice...loved him in concert...My mom is hooked on him too. He also has a version of I can't make u love me..it sounds good but i love Prince version better. Will Downing is another great
talent who's recognition is hidden amongst the "Fake Entertainers" you know this cycle will never end. Desiigner "Panda" LES TWINS x YAK FILMS | Laurent ft Skitzo & Boom Squad Inglewood (part 1)

Shame on you!! If you haven't heard "Where is the love", you don't know what a duet is. | |

I think I saw BET just ran a concert of his yesterday. Haven't seen it yet, but I did record it out of curiousity. Some of his older stuff is really good and mellow. It's a shame Rachelle Ferrell's brother is almost a wanna-be carbon copy, though talented in his own right. | |

I really don't wanna offend anyone,but...
I've never liked Will Downing.I find his singing style to be dry and lifeless. He's a second-rate Luther clone.Like Luther,he enjoys doing remakes.Fine.But,unlike Luther,he doesn't really makes these songs *HIS*.Somebody mentioned his 1989 remake of "Wishing On A Star".I really love the original version by Rose Royce, but Will's version puts me to sleep.Ditto for his uninspired 1993 remake of "Break Up To Make Up".He is very popular on jazz/Quiet Storm radio stations though and he seems to have a loyal following. So far,he just hasn't moved me yet. | |
