erm, Davideye , I´m afraid I am not very good at making detailed reviews of each song. That and the fact that my English is not that good... smile

but I can assure you there are at least 4 really GREAT songs on the album:

Chasing you around
Heaven
Photograph of you
it´s so easy (the first single)

everyone who listens to this album without prejudice will find it really enjoyable

ahhh... good ole Sugar Ray. Saw the brass ring and went straight for it. Grabbed it. Then smashed it to bits.

For those who dont know, Sugar Ray was once a very loud and rawkus rock band. Their first album "Lemonade and Brownies" was a rock masterpiece in the mid 90's but never made it big. Their second album was pretty good too, and contained the single "Fly" which brought them super-stardom. Since then, they went from Rock/Metal/Rap sound to the pop they are now. Now, I'm not one of those people who complain about bands "selling out" but Sugar Ray are pictured next to the word in the dictionary. Can't blaim them. They have a poopload of money now and thousands more fans then they ever did making rock music. My only complaint is the wasted talent. They could have made another band to continue playing hard rock music or something. I love their first album. It is a classic. I dont really like their pop stuff. I want the rock back and need them to put another hard rock album out.

Second... anyone ever see Mark McGrath (lead singer) on Celebrity Music Jeopardy on VH1? He was on a couple times and wiped the floor with everyone. That guy is an encyclopedia of music knowledge. I am pretty good at that game but he is a master. A musical genius who chooses to use that talent in a poor way. I think he needs a side project! smile

I for one really like their splendid pop songs and am very happy they axed the heavy stuff. some bands, the goo goo dolls come to mind, just got a whole lot better after the "sellout" maneuver - there's no shame it that

it was indeed great watching McGrath SLAY on rock n roll jeopardy - especially against the useless Vince Neil. If only CC Deville could have been the other contestant, that would have made it perfect. lol

I could've sworn I saw a music video clip of McGrath & Co. doing a cover of--hold on to your hats--Midnight Star's "No Parking on the Dance Floor."

Was a dreaming??? zzz

Who was he against? Vince Neil and Joe Walsh? All I know is he tore them up. He was on a second time and did it again.

Like I said though, I dont blame them for making more commercially accepted music. Hell, if i could do it, i would too. if i could sing about sugar bon bon goodies in the sky and get paid a few million for it, i would do it. i just wish they would have made some more rock albums!

I can't remember if it was Joe Walsh or not, but whoever it was didn't do much better than Vince Neil - however they weren't drunk at the time so it was sort of excusable.

That McGrath is a good looking guy on top of it all - there's no way he cannot make a solo record at some point
like you said - but I do respect him for allowing the original guys to still get paid

No,you weren't dreaming...lol...their new single "Mr.Bartender (It's So Easy)" features a lyric taken from Midnight Star...

"it's so easy,it's so right,it's so easy,to rock it all night"

Sugar Ray uses this line in the chorus,it's taken from the 1983 Midnight Star classic "No Parking On The Dance Floor".Interestingly, the guitar riff on "Mr.Bartender" is sampled from the 1978 song "Love Is Like Oxygen" by Sweet (one of my favorite songs).

I seen Sugar Ray right when Fly was starting to hit and they ROCKED. Now, they can't stop with the mid-tempo "Fly" reproductions. They've gone so soft it's sad.
Prince may be the purple Yoda, but Wendy & Lisa and Eric Leeds also sit on the Jedi Council.

HOLY $HIT! I'm listening to Radio@Netscape (as always) and just as I was reading "Sugar Ray uses this line..." I hear "It's So Easy!" This has happened a few times! I'm SERIOUS!!!

Dag, why can't I be listening to the O'Jay's "For the Love of Money" and hit the flippin' lottery, or something!? smile
