The new Jewel song! INTUITION

I gotta say I like this new direction a lot...sorta reminds me of Moloko...but it's SOMETHING ELSE entirely for her...

I might be tempted to pick up the album!

Hmmm... I guess it's nice that she's experimenting with a dance sound, but I preferred the Gabriel & Dresden remix of "Serve the Ego" (a track from her last album). "Intuition" doesn't do much for me.

you apparently have missed the entire point of her video.

don't worry, you're not the only one to jump to the "whore" conclusion.

I got the video and i thought it was funny.
I saw her on extra last night and she was saying how she wanted to go in a new sexier direction and how she's trying to completely changing her image. That is when I lost respect.

I was thoroughly impressed with this song, and blown away that it was Jewel...

It's a dance song with great arrangement... nice lyrics and great backing vocals...

Saw her on Leno, (i think) and loved the song live...

Yup, I like it. nod

I think JEWEL is been really contrived
Now any one who knows, the video is making fun of pop culture and music today (britney ext). but she is dressing that way to sell records to teeny boopers but then trying to have an ironic message that goes over their heads to appeal to her old crowd, it's very smart move but to contrived
Her album cover she is decked out in latest teen fashions she is listening to record companies advise on how to dress and act, but trying to make it deep BLAH

It's like she's embarassed at what she has resort to to sell records. That she is using irony and a touch Andy warhool humor to "SAVE HER SOUL"

I've heard most of the new album "0304"--it sounds very Ray-of-Light-ish...especially track #2.

that song makes me want to play with myself. omg

very Shakira'ish. and Shakira makes me want to play with myself. duh

now... if Jewel could have just found a way to get a cameo of Shakira's booty! in the video, it would have been automatic platinum.

INTERESTING move on Jewel's part..
however this "move" works out, I give her much credit for trying something "different" by her standards..

Intuition is alright as a song; the repetitive chorus in the last half of the song wears itself out a bit, but the song manages to keep some of Jewel's "old flava" while adding, um.. "pop/dance" elements to the track.

I'm sure that "Jewel purists" are freaking out & yelling "sell out"..
but hey, she probably will expand her audience with this album. I've read a few reviews that say that most of the album is of this "new Jewel style", which in fact intrigues me more..

I am curious to hear more of this new album; I might even buy it- something I never considered doing with her previous albums, despite the respect I've always had for her as a musician & a songwriter.

I 1st saw her do Intuition during that NYC concert for that film festival ("Tribeca"?); then on that "Divas/Las Vegas" show on VH-1.. where she SHOWED HER (NICE) THIGHS..
I was like.. "is THAT Jewel???"

I made it a point to check her out during the halftime show of Spurs-Nets Game 3..
she didn't disappoint me..

Seriously, though-
Jewel should have props, just for doing this.
I definitely want to hear other songs on this new disc..
I'll see you tonight..
in ALL MY DREAMS..

That's fine, I guess. But I really don't see the point in wasting energy like this. I haven't seen or heard this song or video. I don't really like Jewel anyway. If she is doing all this in sarcasm or if she really just wants to sell records... either way it's lame to me.

The song IS very Madonna-ish.When I first heard it,my first thought was "this sounds like an outtake from 'Music' or 'American Life'.Several months ago,I had heard that Madonna was giving one of her songs ("Forbidden Fruit",an outtake from 'American Life') to some pop diva whose name I can't recall.I thought the Jewel song was that track.

In any case, the Jewel song is great and it's sure to expand her audience. In fact, this is the first Jewel song that I have ever heard on the radio (which means it's crossing over big time). Her hardcore fans may yell "sellout",but what's wrong with trying something new and gaining a few new fans along the way?

Speaking of which,Pink's new single was produced by William Orbit ('Ray Of Light' producer) and he is also producing much of Britney Spear's upcoming CD.
