You have excellent taste, DavidEye! That bassline was tight! Great choice! I have funky basslines swimming around in my head right now thanks to some nice recollections made here... but I think I'll opt to take the obscure route. Anyone remember "Are You Single" by Aura... circa 1981??

/peace Manki I used to love that song! Acting silly, my friends and I would change the words to, "You Make Me Speak Japanese"!! It's ironic that intha916 mentioned Slave. Their bassist Mark L. Adams, aka "The Hansolor", was one of the first bass players to cross my mind when I first looked at this thread. That brotha's riffs were ruff!!

I have mentioned this before on another thread but have you ever heard the post Steve Arrington album "Bad Enuff"? There are some really good tracks on there. Mark laid down some nasty basslines on that album too the best being "In and Out". Bringing Together Five Decades of R&B/Funk/Soul/Dance
