The sad thing about Justin Timberlake is...

Ok, I went to the Xtina and Justin T concert last night and it was very entertaining, I went to see Xtina and stayed to see Justin. Let me first state that Justin is talented and good at what he does, but...it was fucking Elvis all over again! I don't know what annoyed me more: the white girls trying to dance "black" like they were "down" or the white boy (Justin) on stage beat boxing like it was something new. I mean beat boxing has been around for years and yet I saw a (white) reporter asking him on t.v. "What do you call that?" He obviously didn't give a shit when black people were doing it and when Justin was answering the question, he never said that it was something old. If a black guy came out with the same album with the same songs and sung it just as well he would not be as successful. That pisses me off. I would like to see a black guy or girl just as succesful. Don't get me wrong, I love me some Jon B. and Thicke, but I would like to see these white cats acknowledge that they didn't start r&b and I would like to see these white consumers buy music by black artists as well instead of these white chocolate artists...why am I pissed?

p.s. Why the fuck do people leave a concert before the encore? what is that all about? stupidity?

Well, I didn't think it was humanly possible to somehow fit a Justin Timberlake and Christina Aguilera concert in the Politics and Religion forum, but there you go, you've succesfully made a political issue out of it.

Hey, I'm not black, but I'm a damn good at dancing "black" as you say.

Why Feel This Way?

We All Learn From Each Other, No Matter What Color U R.

As Long As Your Good At It, Who Cares?

Its Not Like U Did'nt Buy A Ticket Because They Are White.

And Whatz With White People Can't B Down?

If Millions Of White Kids Were Not Down, Then 50cent And

Other Black Artist Would'nt Be On Top Of Pop Radio List And

Making Piles Of Cash. Its Popular Because White Folks R

Down With

It.

Many of our very own "white" org artists acknowledge that their influences were people like James Brown, Prince, Marvin Gave, Jimmy Hendrix, George Clinton, Grandmaster Flash, and many more. Check out profiles of Manki, JDODSON, Cloud9Mission, Funkaholic1972, etc.

These cats are fon-kay! And, they are by no means "white".

OMG, thanks for your replies, but what I was trying to address is racism in the music industry. I was trying to address that "white" consumers would not buy the music Justin has recorded or go to his concert if he were black, even though it's the same exact music black artists have been making for years

I went to see Xtina, who I don't consider white, just like I don't consider someone who is half black and half white as white (someone made an issue of me buying a ticket)

Ok, She. I'm not sure, but did Justin Timberlake ever say he (or 'white' people) invented his dancing/music style. No he didn't. Shouldn't he b doing it simply bcause he's white??? That would b a pretty racist thing to say...

sorry, but the 15 year old girls buying Justin tickets, think the beat box is cool. They were not around when Whodini was doing it, or the Fat Boys, or Doug E. Fresh or Kurtis Blow. Give the cat a break.

I would rather he get the ticket sales than Eminem, the hateful prick. At least Justin is a nice guy.

I didn't say these girls didn't like the beat box, but if they can watch old movies like Ferris Bueller's day off, the breakfast club, and pretty in pink they can go rent beat street, krush groove, and breakin too

I agree he is nicer person than Eminem

If a member of one of the most popular pop boyzzz band in the world comes out with a more r'nb-oriented record, u call that a race issue? Or when a part of the boyz band's (teen) audience buys tickets for the solo concert of the lead singer, it is a race issue to u? And u'r 'striking example' is that JT beatboxes at his concerts??? This isnt a racial issue and it seems like you are reaching to make it a racial issue. Free your mind from color and stereotypes. Stop looking for somewhere to play a race card.
Justin's music is nothing like the "same exact music black artists have been making for years". You need to look at the audience also. Justin's music caters to young, white females. To this audience, what he is doing is "cool". They have no clue about Beat Street or The Fat Boys or any of that. For the same reason they have no idea about David Bowie, The Rolling Stones or Marvin Gaye. They are in a different time. Race or racism has nothing to do with it.

There are blacks like B2K, half of the American Idol crowd, Lil Romeo and Lil Bow Wow who have had near the same amount of success with the exact same crowd. Whites buy this music without any discrimination and I'm sure there isnt a single 14 year old female that bought the Timberlake album because he was white or the B2K album because they are black.

Justin = nice guy? Well he ignored my long time internet friend who happens to be a fan, who asked for a mere autograph and told him it was his birthday. Didn't even acknowledge his presence. Apparently Dustbin Limberfake is surrounded by an unnecessary entourage rivalled only by Jennifer Lopez and possibly Mariah Carey.

Hmph, well I'm a 21 year old white girl and have a rather insane obsession with collecting all those 80s hip hop movies music I guess there are always exceptions.

Mariah is a black woman 4 the million time dammit sad

But then again this applies 2 Slim Shady too nod

Slim is bitching about this and that but on the humble? I'm kinda worried about his lil' girl. Why not take care of the lil' woman instead of bitching about life? You have the money, health and a pretty daughter, what more could a motherfucker want?

I don't care if you call me racist, ignorant, hater or whatever but I really don't care about white poeple doing RnB & Hip-Hop(I think the ONLY white person who comes in mind that delievered PURE SOUL with originality is TEENA MARIE & JANICE JOPLIN and thats is) the rest of these white folks(Jon B.-Thicke-Justin-Christina-Kelly-Dream and even Remy etc etc etc) are just plain [products] IMO they're just doing what their middle men tell 'em 2 do cuz they're the BEST when it comes 2 making easy money.

Last night I saw a picture of Justin in a magazine squeezing his "dick" rolleyes Thats no Justin, thats the POEPLE who control the strings.

I personaly don't complain about white folks stealing our music even tho we don't get our dues like we should, its fair enough 2 know that people know where this music come from.

When did I say Mariah was white? Just saying that Justin isn't the nice down to earth guy he likes to think he is. He seems OBSESSED with credibility. I'm a white girl and I found it distasteful for him to site Coldplay and Radiohead as major influences on him, without even uttering the name of the black folks who are obviously the peeps he's jacking off. THIS was in the UK though. He chips and changes these things in interviews depending on where he is and how he/his management thinks the comments are going to be taken. He'd not dare say such a thing in the US because people would be jumping on his back about it.
