listen to a sample of Mary J. Blige's new single 'Love @ First Sight' R&B superstar Mary J. Blige has made her new single, "Love @ First Sight" featuring Method Man, available for sampling on her official Web site. The track is a teaser for her upcoming studio album, "Love & Life," due Aug. 26. Blige has spent her entire career on MCA, which, as previously reported, is being shuttered by parent Universal Music Group (UMG). The new album will be released by UMG's Geffen label.
As previously reported, "Love & Life" was executive produced by Blige with P. Diddy, marking the first time the pair have worked together since Blige's 1994 album "My Life." The album sports guest appearances from Jay-Z, 50 Cent and Eve as well as additional production from Dr. Dre. Blige will appear Aug. 29 on NBC's "Today." A video for "Love @ First Sight" is also in the works. Beforehand, a remix of Blige's "Keep Your Head" will appear on the AIDS benefit album "Songs for Life," due June 24 from Capitol. ooops! sorry, here is the link http://www.mjblige.com/ sounds a little too P. Isn't Geffen like dead and just a bit part of Universal that pretty much got lost in the shuffle? I don't get it...why Geffen? That doesn't sound good for the album but it sure is getting a lot of mentions on the net!

MCA RECORDS IS NO MORE Decades old label to be phased in to Interscope/Geffen. *One of the worst kept secrets in the music business is officially out in the open. But, just in case you haven't heard, Universal Music Group today began a massive West Coast restructuring that will eventually see MCA Records folded, along with its legendary name, into Interscope Geffen A&M’s Geffen Records under label President Jordan Schur. On the other hand, an official announcement of the combining of Interscope Geffen and MCA as well as Schur’s appointment, is under wraps for now. A preliminary statement from Interscope Geffen said, "We have begun a restructuring process at MCA Records. Further details about the structure and staffing of the label will be announced shortly. We are grateful for the contributions made by the employees affected by these changes." If you're an artist at MCA, a bottle of Pepto Bismol should be in your future. Schur is reportedly reviewing MCA’s roster and is likely to trim it, but insiders say major acts like Mary J. Blige will be an important part of the new operation. http://www.eurweb.com/art...102003.cfm

I thought Geffen folded into Univerisal. I don't know about you, but I don't think this is a good thing. No wonder the music business is dying!

Wow, Prince didn't even have to sign to MCA, he probabbly just thought about it, and caused it to shut down.
