Beyonce is a Jlo wannabe - read review of new beyone track

Now we all love "Crazy in Love" but here is another point of view on BEYONCE'S NEW STYLE
I believe this an Austrlian web site:

Crazy In Love with Beyonce
Crazy In Love is Destiny’s Child Beyonce Knowles’ first single from her debut solo LP, the also love-related Dangerously In Love, and it’s her second duet in a row with Jay-Z. Now, the song itself is a funky lil’ number, a typical Beyonce joint which will all but certainly become a club fave. My issue with it, though, is that although she looks unbelievably HOT in the clip, she seems to be flat out biting damn near everything that Jennifer Lopez has done in her videos of late. Peeps may not agree with me here, but the dancing under a spurting fire hydrant, skimpy outfits with her ass damn near hangin’ out (not that I’m complaining!), and even her eyes scream J-Lo. Beyonce is an extremely successful artist in her own right and she doesn’t need to ‘borrow’ looks and ideas from others, especially from one who is known for her extravagant biting and who can’t even sing a note. Originality is sadly becoming something of the past in urban music, and we need to return to it before our music implodes. Any thoughts or comments can be sent to flavas@beat.com.au.

Jlo needs to disapear she's the woman who could have been Ava Gardner but gave it up to be Paula Abdul

(not that I think she's a great actress, but you get the point)

Becuase of her "singing" career, she will never be taken seriously again, because she is branded with been the worst singer ever
and she needs to quit bitting Mariah's style

Bouncy has been a biter since her career started. In Destiny's Child, she was biting Diana Ross. Then she started biting Tina Turner. Now she's biting J-Lo, who bites Janet and 80s movies and videos. Christina Aguilera bites Mariah Carey. Britney bites Janet and Madonna. Ashanti thinks she's the new Aaliyah. It goes around and around with every new diva biting everybody else.

Beyonce is weird, because I typically hate female vocal pop-stars like her. But, for some reason, and it's not just because I think she is one of the most beautiful women in the world, I really dig on her (or her producer's) style.

As a matter of fact, she is about the only pop star of today that I will listen to, and the only reason I got into her to begin with was because of that performance with Sheila and Rhonda on Leno.

WOW.

I don't think Beyonce has changed much since No No No No NO.

I remember J-LO from In Living Colour and that Janet video for That's The Way Love Goes. For some reason, in those days she looked Latin.

And how many "Beyonce's" do you know? I don't know many. I don't know many Shaniqua's or many Ashanti's. And if I do, they're all BLACK women.

And isn't Lopez a Latin name?

There's something about keeping a name that's "in culture" that commands a certain level of respect AMONG your culture, right?

So when Beyonce starts calling herself "B-Kno"...

then we'll talk.

Anyway, I love me some Beyonce. Thats my girl ya'll and as 4 her look? She kinda looks a bit like the blonde version of Phyllis Hyman, altho Phyllis was taller.

U know, who really cares if she is biting J Lo. Beyonce is extremely overrated. She is the least talented singer in the group. Michelle is the best singer in the group. Now as far as J Lo goes, she is not a singer, actually she is a terrible singer, average actress. She also is tremedously over hyped.

Like her or hate her, Jennifer Lopez has a fierce work ethic that has taken here from being a minor dancing girl on a popular TV show and in music videos to being a successful music and film star.

If Beyonce sees a model to emulate in Lopez, it's no wonder. Shoot. I should try to work as fiercely as J.Lo, instead of posting on some site about Prince...

In my opinion, J-Lo and Beyonce are pickin' from Janet's tree. I don't dislike either one per se, although I think it's time for Lopez to sit down somewhere, if only for a minute.

That being said, I don't really see a connection between the two. They don't really sound the same to me.

Meanwhile, Me'Shell Ndegeocello, the one female artist everybody should pay attention to -- shoot, the one artist PERIOD who should be mentioned as an heir apparent to Prince -- is neglected.

J-Lo owes a lot of her success to her association with P.Diddy/Puffy. It was Puffy who got her into the music industry, got her hooked up with the manager Benny Medina. She got into the restaurant and clothing business because of Puffy. When they broke up, she hired several of his people for her staff.

I'm not disputing that. But, it also takes drive to do all those things. Lopez isn't particularly great at singing, isn't all that pretty and can't really act all that well (all my opinions). But, she finds a way to be downright ubiquitous in the 21st Century. That's saying a lot about her drive.

Um, no... Sorry, but you know that Beyonce wouldn't make it in the pop music world if she didn't look the way she does- whereas, Thicke is actually a real musician and songwriter with genuine musical talent. You can't even compare the two.

And thanks to the sorry state of the music industry, a talent like Thicke will continue to struggle, while Beyonce will shake her booty all the way to the top.

It was Tommy Mottola that gave Jlo her start, he wanted someone who looked like Mariah, he groomed her to look like her and steal her songs and also bitting on Janet's style
she makes me sick

but I have to agree with you on the drive, it takes alot of DRIVE (not talent) to take what little she ahs and spread out like that

god gave her SHIT so she she made SHIT PIE

woot! My target is being targeted by others than myself...
The girl has the ability 2 sing but overdoes it...the girl has the ability 2 be liked but chooses 2 throw herself at folkies making the opposition come @ her harder.
She's tired 2 me bored...she needs 2 disappear 4 about 10 years or so & maybe she'll be accepted back.
Her song is cool but it's gonna get played out in oh about, 5 minutes...reading
Besides the fact I was JUST TALKING ABOUT the look-alike syndrome young women of ALL RACES and AGES seem 2 have! Its amazing what one will resort 2, 2 seem "sexy", "hot", "talented" (falloff) etc.
my top three "gotta go's" r

Cherrie...I'm feeling that avatar YUM!!!

As far as Bouncy goes - Pretty girl, can sing a bit, but I'm sick of of her over the top image.

As far as J-Lo goes - Pretty girl, catchy music, can't sing ( but who cares Janet and Madonna can't either but I love them equally).

Both of these ladies are riding the industry for what it's worth. When I turn on the radio I have a least 10 different stations to choose from and guess what...they all play the same corny ass shit. If I was in their shoes I would do the same damn thing. This is nothing new with "pop" stars they pop in and out from time to time with a hit here and a hit there. Are you really surprise that there is so much biting going on? Music recycles like fashion...now that we are older it's a bit more clearer but when we were younger, none of that mattered. We were out there buying that shit making the same industry pockets fatter and fatter. It's a shame that the music of today sux ass but it is what it is... that's why we have 5-10 disc changers we can load up with real music !!! evillol You just know know Madonna and Janet are like "been there, done that" Personally I would be flattered if someone bit my style as long as they do it right.

Sounds like someone else you might have heard of: Madonna. Famous just because she's famous.

Precisely. Most of today's R&B music is crap.I grew up in the 70s,when we had Stevie Wonder,Roberta Flack,Earth Wind and Fire and all those other real artists. These days,we have barely dressed "divas" with un-distinctive voices,bass-heavy,sample-filled "songs" with the inevitable rapper appearing on it with them.Is there really gonna be any difference between Ashanti's new album, and the new Beyonce album? Is this what R&B has evolved into? From Stevie Wonder to...Ashanti???

All I got to say is whatever happened to originality??? I don't like Beyounce. or JLO and personally I think they both r some tired hafa's who can only dream to be half of what Janet Jackson is.... I swear they need to give credit when credit is pass due and that's the truth nod

who said thicke was whack, mad Thicke as more talent then JLO and Beyounce put 2gether. At least he plays a insturtment. What don't tell me y'all don't know what a insturment is lol
