Harle... you CANNOT be that young! (smile) LTD is the group that Jeffrey started out in. They recorded on A&M. Actually, your girl - Angela Winbush (a in-house producer/writer/singer) - did some backup vocals for them for awhile. check www.allmusic.com and type in LTD. I think you'd recognize a few of their classics if ya heard em.

Hell, I only picked his Ultimate Collection last year and thats becoz Joyce Kennedy was there. BTW I knew that Angie was a back-up vocalist in their "Shine On" don't know nothing about the woman producing a cut 4 them? Dang, how the hell didn't I check this b4? "Holdin On (When Love Is Gone)" (1978)
"Don't Stop Loving Me Now" (1978) "Stranger" (1977) "April Love" (1981)---even without Jeffrey Osborne, they had great songs "Kickin Back" (1981)---ditto "We Both Deserve Each Other's Love"(1978)---was this ever released as a single? "It's Time To Be Real"(1978)---love the Latin feel of this track! "Where Did We Go Wrong?"(1980) "Concentrate On You" (1978) "Jam" (1978)---this one is TOO FUNKY!!! a little trivia for ya...in 1976,LTD had a huge hit with the song "Love Ballad" (the one that goes "what we have is much more than they can see").But,that song was actually offered to Earth Wind and Fire first.A few years ago,Philip Bailey said that he regrets that they didn't record it first. It probably would have appeared on their 1976 'Spirit' album.

Hey David! Stop looking at my list!! LOL! J/K! And yeah, I read that little tidbit somewhere, and reaidng it again makes me wonder exactly how that would sound if EW&F would've recorded it. Hmmm, it would've been interesting! And, I don't tend to remember We Both Deserve... being released as a single...just one of those album cuts picked up by radio.

If EW&f had recorded it,I think Philip would have sung the lead vocals. So,it would have been a beautiful EW&F ballad, not unlike "Imagination" perhaps.George Benson did a nice remake of that song a few years later. His version was more uptempo/Disco.

Yeah, I remember that version. Didn't really care for it too much. I guess in my mind LTD had it perfect from the beginning!
