Madonna In Israel Taken from Madonnapower:
Queen of pop Madonna has defied record label bosses' concerns for her safety by insisting her new video be filmed in Israel. The 44-year-old singer wants ‘Nothing Fails’ to be shot in the troubled region because the song makes references to the Kabbalah, a form of Jewish mysticism. And the singer has ignored advice from her record label Warner. A source says, "Her record bosses are really worried about it. They are trying to talk her round, but she's having none of it. "She has told them it makes sense to shoot it in Israel as the Kabbalah originates from there. "Madonna is not particularly bothered about her safety and potential risks. She doesn't think it's as bad as it seems." ‘Nothing Fails’ Fails will be the third single to be lifted from Madonna's new album, ‘American Life’. Good heavens, this is going to rule!

You know what? I love the song "Nothing Fails" but I think Madonna should release "Love Profusion" as the third single (after "Hollywood").Commerically speaking,it has alot more hit potential and I think it would do very well ("Hollywood" and "Love Profusion" are the most radio-freindly tracks on the album). A few fans have pointed out that, even though "Nothing Fails" is a great song, the repeated lyric "I'm not religious" may alienate alot of people.I know that sounds extreme...lol...I think some fans are just nervous.
But,after the hoopla surrounding the "AL" video,I kinda wish Maddy would just listen to her Warner bosses.Let's hope it all goes smoothly and that the video truns out okay.

As long as she doesn't die in the process, I think it's a wonderful idea. She's following her muse and I'm sure it will lead her to a profoundly poignant video. And I'm happy this is the 3rd single. I would like the 4th to be 'Mother and Father' and leave 'Love Profusion' alone.

While I thinkthe stuff going on in Isreal is awful the only thing I was looking for in your first post was..."‘Nothing Fails’ Fails will be the third single to be lifted from Madonna's new album, ‘American Life’." I think the song is going to be the only hit on there. I don't think "Hollywood" to radio friendly considering it critizes radio! You think they ignored AL? I remember seeing her preform "Nohting Fails" and they went nuts for it! I also love "Mohter and Father" and think it has hit potentail. I like LP but I don't think its that radio friendly either. Then again who knows? Depends on how much you pay clear channel these days.

Why do alot of people have this "Israeli Fever" lately? I like Israeli's and Israel, but why do musicians and actors seem to be on their jock lately? I know a few people personally with real bloodline relations to ancient Israel, but it seems like there are some fakes out there right now, including some government peeps.
Be real, y'all. | |

i know the woman has a lot to say but...can't we just dance? Nobody Knows Me would be a great 3rd single!

LMAO...you guys don't REALLY think that "Mother And Father" should be a single,do you? That song is WAY too bizarre for radio programmers! Maddy's high-pitched vocals and the song's subject matter won't go over well with radio programmers or the public.I mean, could you imagine a Top 40 hit with lyrics like...
"my mother died when I was five and all I did was sit and cry...my father had to go to work,I used to think he was a jerk"

I think "Love Profusion" has major hit potential.Unlike most songs on the album,it actually has a catchy hook ("I've got you...under my skin") and can you imagine the remix possibilities? And it's perfect for a sexy video too.

I agree.I'm not sure what Maddy and Warners are planning for this song, but I know that there is an official remix done by Peter Rauhofer.Maybe it will be a future single?

great news & thread, TRON as for Love Profusion, you've got to be kidding. it's stupid on the album and it would be stupider on the radio. if it has any chance whatsoever of having hit-appeal, it needs to be remixed, HEAVILY, with most of the lyrics left out (ie, meaning several verses of "i've got you under my skin" left out, seeing as they're most of the lyrics in the song).

singles, in this order, should be
Die Another Day (history) American Pie (done) Hollywood (here it comes) Nothing Fails (looks to be next)/Nobody Knows Me (with several remixes) a la Bad Girl/Fever Mother & Father Intervention/Love Profusion (again, heavily remixed, and only as a club-single)
