New Aretha Franklin-"The Only Thing Missin" | |

Well, I guess if Jesus could raise Lazarus, Aretha can raise Curtis, eh?
Yeah, I said it! That song has to be the closest thing she's ever done to the Curtis Mayfield sessions for Sparkle. And I heard that Re-Ree laid down them tracks (for Curtis) in about a week! I've also heard that this is gonna be one of Re-Ree's last go-rounds. They'll be a major tour, book, etc., but this is gonna be the last big promotional album/tour/event. I gotta reserve judgement on this til I hear the whole album, but for now I guess its cool. I don't like it as much as I liked Pride (A Deeper Love) and Rose Is Still A Rose, but she is the Queen. She can do whatever she wants. | |

Oh yeah...her great 1987 gospel album One Lord, One Faith, One Baptism has been remastered and reissued with bonus tracks. This anointed 2-CD set showcases Re Re at her finest. The sound quality is excellent and although she is the "The Queen Of Soul" you can truly detect through her gospel recordings how she infused and change soul music.

Okay, I just found out from Arista.com that Big Re Re is naming her new album So Damn Happy which suits her just fine considering that lately she looks like she just doesn't give a damn!  I ain't mad at Re Re, though because she is the Mecca of Female Soul!!! | |
