John Mellencamp

Mellencamps 21st CD, "trouble no more", also his last on SONY is a great collection of old Blues covers. Mellencamp
as usual delivers the goods on this album. Mellencamp is easily one of the most consistent artists of the last 25 years, his "commercial" days may be behind him, although like STING, mellencamp always seems to squeeze through with a radio hit. But as Mellencamp told a new female artist recently who told him she wants to sell at least a million and thats her dream. Mellencamp told her its not about the sales its about getting to the point where you write the perfect song and you feel like u finally have gotten to that point musically, Mellencamp still feels he is a long way from achieving that, I just wish all artists thought his way.

UptownDeb

I've like him since he was John "Cougar" Mellencamp. I've never been a Springsteen fan, just never had access to him. However, I've always been a fan of Mellencamp's. Don't know how it happened either, I mean it's not like they show his videos on BET or anything. I think he's got soul (at home we used to call him James Brown's illegitimate son) and seems colorblind (I'm not crazy about the term, but for lack of a better one...).
