Nikka Costa comments on Prince

I manage a couple of artists; one is Van Hunt, who is on Capitol, a throwback to Sly Stone-meets-Curtis Mayfield. He made a brilliant record that’s coming out soon. Then there’s Nikka Costa, who is on Virgin. She’s brilliant, with passion, personality. I remember when I first started working with her. We were at a Prince concert, and she said one of the most amazing things, that still moves me to this day. She said, "Man, you know what? Every time I see him, it just reminds me of how much harder I need to practice my piano and guitar." An artist who is that talented is still trying to get better. For somebody like me, who busted my ass trying to become a good musician, I love that. That’s amazing.

I know I was right out of line lol
I can be such a bitch, But I'll never appologised (I'm to stuburn) anyway they'll get over it, I was a bit harsh
I was just frustrated with such small minded views (although it is their right to have one)
It's 2003, who still thinks like that?
That board is to eclectic for my liking

BREAKING NEWS: "VAN HUNT IS GOING TO BE THE SHIT!"

I can't even believe that I have forgotten to mention him. He did some production on Rahsaan Patterson's last CD,"Love In Stereo" and Joi's last CD, "Star Kitty's Revenge." If anyone is familiar with the later, check out his guitar and bass slapping on "Missing You." Joi mentioned on her board forum that Van was definitely inspired by Prince's "Sexy Dancer" and you can hear the influence on the breakdown of the song. He uses a lot of vintage instruments like the Clavinet, Hammond organ, wah-wah guitars/bass, and tambourines. Can't wait until his album drops!!!

Yeah man, his bass breakdown in "Missing You" was the boom-diggity. Altho Joi could've included her funky # "Ghetto Superstar" that song was of the meter nod

Anyway, can you post a picture of him?
