Ani Di Franco plays London Ani Di Franco played the Royal Festival Hall in London last night...she was fantastic!
Solo (with an opening guy who I missed most of) She mentioned Prince after playing one song saying" I must have thought I was Prince when I wrote that" she said they don't have much in common except their height! and then went on to call him a vivid man! She played quite a lot from her new album and was very communicative with the audience, someone carried on a conversation with her from the back of the room and because of the peculiar acoustics of the FH it was all amazingly clear... she is dynamite, and seems very important in these times in which we live... she has a great shirt at merchandise which says: The Media is not fooling me"... she didn't play a long set but being solo it felt about right...

I find it so interesting that she puts out an album like "Evolve" - calling it the definitive musical statement from her and her band.
And then the Righteous Babe is out there on a solo tour. hmmm

I was disappointed with how short the solo set was in Minneapolis. Couple this with the fact that she was sitting the entire show because of a broken foot and it was a pretty poor show.
I've seen her a bunch of times so I know this wasn't the norm as she is usually great live, but this was my experience with the solo tour.
