I forgot about him...I hung out with him in Detroit a few years ago. He's a really cool guy.

I saw Al.B Sure last year at a Brothers Johnson concert.He now works at one of our local radio stations (KISS FM).He has his own late-night "Secret Garden" show,where he plays love songs and take requests.I heard he is also finishing up a new CD,not sure if it was ever released.


I love his first album 'In Effect Mode' (1988).So many cool jams on that one.Remember "Off On Your Own (Girl)" and "Rescue Me"? But I was disappointed with his 1991 follow-up album 'Private Times...and the Whole 9'.That CD was an overproduced mess,with a lame cover of the Eagles' "Hotel California"(!).I never bought anything by him again,but that first CD is a classic,and it has actually aged pretty well (considering it's a late 80s' New Jack Swing sound).

Wow! What next? The Very Best of Christopher Williams?

at best I'd give Him 7 Hits.the Record Label Goofed this Up because back in 94 when the Death Row Soundtrack to "Above the Rim" was Out they could have cashed in on Him then when He had a Song on the Soundtrack.after He worked with Joddeci&Tevin Campbell He cooled off.back in 89 Warner Brothers wanted Him to Produce a Album on Rick James which Rick turned down Coldly&Rightfully so.AL B.Sure was the Maxwell of His time for a minute&then He cooled way off.His Best Song was "Night&Day"&His Best Vocal Performance was for "Seceret Garden" IMHO.

I suppose I must have known that but it didn't click right away. That was his big hit after all! I'm wondering if this "Best Of" is worth it. Damn, I just bought four CDs during the week!

I've got to admit that maybe once every couple of years I pull out "Private Times". I like it. I wouldn't buy the greatest hits though. I've already got "In Effect Mode".
