The Woodstock Of Funk is coming back to the big screen this summer with new footage, including Isaac Hayes performing the Theme From Shaft:

I hadn't heard of this concert or this film till I recently saw a preview for the anniversary edition re-release, but you can bet I'll be checking it out when it hits my moviehouse...!

Oh my god. My father went to that concert at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum back in 1972. He told me he saw Rufus & Chaka Khan perform and that it was a good concert. Wattstax was a REALLY BIG event in Los Angeles for the black community.

Yeah, I corrected my information. Sorry about that. LOL I just woke up like 2 hours ago and I'm in the computer lab taking a break from class so my mind is not up to top condition right now. smile But yeah, he did go to Wattstax, I remember he said Rufus & Chaka Khan were there. He said they performed some song, I'll get back to you on which one (if he still remembers).

I didn't notice Chaka in the coming attractions preview, and I think I would notice something like Chaka Khan. She's hard to miss. Doesn't mean she's not in it, though...
