A great artist

How many like Sade? i love her. I must say that i didn't listen 2 her things, until last year. What a shame! I was surprised that i actually already knew Smooth Operator. It just didn't click until i saw her sing it. I remembered the tune from way back when i was a kid. Must have been really popular and shows how good the song itself is.

Lovers Rock is a fantastic album - I AD heart re 'By Your Side' amazingly touching lyrics,
and a beautiful melody sang by a velvet voice* dripped in honey

I have all her cd's. She has a beautiful voice and loads of talent. She never sold out and tried to get by on fake titties or shakin her ass. She deserves respect and she has mine.

She is talented and she didn't sell out. That is soo true. But 2 me I think she is quite beautiful 2. I like the fact that we don't really know much about her personal life. She has kept things seperate as far she could, retaining some normality and giving us just the music and no BS. It is always a joy 2 hear her sing or just 2 c her. I love the way she just moves xcross stage and how everything is done with such style and grace. The shows r never as xpensive 2 produce as 4 some of the other artists, and yet they are so great. The lighting is great and the timing of everything is superb.

Love her too. I only discovered her stuff about three or four months ago, but the three albums I've heard I really loved. Very beautiful heartfelt music.

Now i have gotten a beating in 1 of the other posts 4 this but i will say that Michael Jackson still does it well on stage. I say this because i find a similarity in his concerts 2 that of Sade. I saw Sade and i thought the concert had great preperation. Every sound had a place, every movement was timed with lighting etc. I love the improptu shows by others and i do love that u don't know what 2 xpect 4rom some of the other artist, but i do like when the songs are finished 2 the end and when everything is so worked out b4hand that it just looks so graceful. Oh hell, its just my opninion ofcourse, and it's so late here i have 2 sleep now:)

I'm surprised by the same thing. I've been listening to Sade for years...since the mid-80's, but I think within the past 5 years or so I completely claimed her as one of the top faves of all-time across the board. Yet it's cool to discover an artist, who has a certain respectable level of success, at a time when they are not constantly in the public eye or you are being innundated by the songs on the radio. Seeing Sade live was worth the 8 year wait. Each time you listen to her songs, you will feel something different or will be able to her songs to your own life which makes it even more special. Even if most of her songs are about love, but different types.
"Funkyslsistah… you ain't funky at all, you just a little ol' prude"!
"It's just my imagination, once again running away with me."

Sade is awesome. Such class. I saw her last tour and it was one of the most balanced shows I've ever seen. Nothing was overdone, some lighting effects, some nice video behind the stage, no big costume changes, a little dancing... And what an excellent set! She is a great singer and songwriter. I love her.

...and yet, 2 think when she 1st appeared on the scene in 85 that she was pretty much laughed at because they thought she was one of the new 'scene' people in London at the time - how wrong they were.

Yeah they can make it pretty tough 4 new artists. As if it wasn't bad enough with the pressure 2 do well etc. Must have been difficult 4 her. It's great that she stuck with it and did so well. Otherwise i may not have been able 2 spin Lover's Rock right now...an unbearble thought:(

That's it there: "War of the Hearts". "Is it a crime" is also timeless. It makes me feel like I'm sitting alone in a small, sparsely crowded jazz club on a rainy Tuesday night--but everything's alright. All of her albums are good and, yes, she gets much respect.

Sade is a goddess. To NOT bow before her is blasphemy and punishable by DEATH.
And now, back to your regularly scheduled chatter.

Sade is wonderful. She's like a modern day goddess. Her voice is beautiful, and so is she. Man she is gorgeous. have you seen her video for King of Sorrow, man she looks absolutely stunning. She looks better than women twice as young as her.

I love the song Kiss Of Life. Her music is perfect to listen to on starry nights or on rainy days. It lifts up your spirits and moves your heart.

Not too many people known that Sade is also the name of the band as well as the singer. Sade rocks. woot!

Ms. Adu is a true talent and class act. The song Love is Stronger Than Pride is, in my opinion, one of the greatest songs ever written.

nod "I won't pretend that I intend to stop living,
I won't pretend, I'm good at forgiving, but I can't hate you, although I have tried, mmm...I still really, really love you...love is stronger than pride - I still really, really love you, mmm...sitting here wasting my time, would be like, waiting for the sun to rise - it's all too clear, things come & go...sitting here waiting for you, would be like waiting for winter - it's gonna be cold, there may even, be snow..."

"I could aim, but I could not fire...got a bullet to spare, to kill, my desire...who's calling the shots one of us, must make the peace..to have or to have not, the fire's got to cease...I'm loaded, don't know where to point this thing...it's a sin, how we hit, where it hurts (how we hit where it hurts..) - who's calling the shots, one of us, must end this masquerade, to have or to have not, let's heal the wounds that we've made..it's a war of the hearts"

"You're ruling the way that I move, and I breathe your air, you only can rescue me, this is my prayer.."

- Just some of the greatest writing ever. heart Sade - but I heart MarySharon even more!

LOVE, LOVE, LOVE, LOVE...is what I'm feeling, ooh, and it feels sooo good. kiss2
