Well u probably know now that ruben took it.I wanted 2 see clay win but they were both deserving of it.

Man, I'm too excited that Ruben won. They are both deserving of the title but I thought that Ruben had brought a little more to the table. It was a great season and I look forward to hearing both of their albums when they come out.

I see American Idol as putting a small dent in that. The judges tried to push people like Kimberly Caldwell who would better fit the video star (hot slut) image. But America went a different direction. The final 3 were the 3 best singers. From there, it's pretty arbitrary who wins because the voting system is flawed (can't handle the volume of callers, allows multiple votes, etc.). Both of the last two rounds were so close that the margin of error in the voting system had to be greater than the difference in the results.

The thing, though, is the final 2 were people who 6 month ago would not have even been given a chance by the industry because they didn't have the look. Instead, they're the two hottest sellers on Amazon.

Clay's been #1 for over 3 days now.

The industry has valued looks over talent, and American Idol can give the industry a wake up call there. Show em that America actually cares about talent. Sure, the people on the show don't have the same kind of talent that someone like, say, Prince has. But it is a singing contest only, and they have singing talent that the industry wouldn't have paid attention to 6 months ago because of their look.

I'd love to see them to two things, though.
1 - eliminate the cap on age. Who says a star has to be under 25?
2 - have another show for singer/songwriter/musicians

A few good things I will say about thsi show/season:

1.The final 2 were the best two in the competition

2.They certainly don't look the part of an "american idol"

3.Let the industry pimp them...they're actually quite talented (vocally) an dmay jus produce some quality music...you never know.

4.I hope Justin's album tanks

5.What the hell happened with Kelly? She had/has a great voice...but that song she performed...it sounds like a christina-wannabe song...I had high hopes for her

6. I seriously hope I never hear from Carmen, Julia, Corey, Josh or Kim C., how in the world they got in top 10 confuses me greatly

7.I will be ver, very angry if Kimberly Locke doesn't get anything...I just love her

I couldn't agree with you more. The final 3 was perfect. Kimberly Locke improved so much from the beginning and she was great then. I hope we hear from her real soon too.
