RH factor: now that's an album !!!!

Just bought Roy Hargrove's latest album (feat. on all tracks James Poyser and on a few ones D'Angelo, Common, Me'shell, Cornell Dupree...): GREAT ALBUM, which to me simply defines what modern jazz-fusion is!

Anyone else has listened to it ?

I haven't heard it, but could U class Guru's Jazzmatazz albums along the same lines? If so, then I'd B interested in hearing it!

Quite frankly, I love Guru's jazzmatazz albums but this one is much better, both in terms of innovation and cohesion. Just my opinion though. Anyway you'll most probably like it!

Peace

I like the version of 'I'll Stay' a lot.

All that and I still need to edit?

Hell yes!!! I think D'Angelo did the song justice by adding that gospel-type vibe to it. I also like the drums on "The Joint." Roy Hargrove is the shit!

You still like that joint ain't ya? wink HMMmmm, I listened 2 it again so I could I like it but something about it doesn't sound right. The original song sounds fresh and "un-reharsed" while he arrenged and [planed] his singing in this version if you know what I mean? But the production was tight tho, I gotta give him the credit 4 that.

And like I said b4 "Poetry" with Badu & Tip is the HIGHLIGHT of the show nod

Of course I do, Harelepolis! lol I definitely love the original version of "I'll Stay," but D'Angelo seems to add something extra to his re-makes. I dunno. I like "Poetry," too, but Erykah's part doesn't really do anything for me. The beginning is the best part with Q-Tip flowin' and Meshell playing (I've been bumpin' this in my trunk since I got it!) lol

Honestly, I wasn't feeling the album until the fifth track. After that I was lovin' what I was hearing. I think Roy should have played this trumpet more.
