The Foo are Phucking Fenomenal live! :)

Was anyone at the cleveland show on the 27th? They rocked! Dave Grohl stopped for a little while to talk to everyone. He made a really nice remark that he was always expecting to be playing to crowds of like "500 people, with most of them standing in the back eating corndogs" by now. And instead "several thousand close personal friends decided to show up" for the show. smile

He also mentioned that he too is from Ohio, and born in the same area I was born and raised. Add that to the list of famous people from Northeast Ohio including Trent Reznor and Chrissy Hynde. smile

Hehheh. Anyhow, if you dig Foo Fighters, this tour theyre on right now is very good. All the seats are general admission, so if you get there an hour early you can get right up by the stage. I was no more than 15 feet from the edge of the stage.

I saw the Foo's in Newcastle, England, a couple of months ago and they were truly fantastic live.
Met the band back stage after the gig (won a competition), and the whole band were very laid back and nice fellows indeed.

I love the Foo (hence the user name!) I saw them in Birmingham England last November and they were fantastic. Dave Grohl jumped off stage to the fans and his banter between playing was soo funny - I would give anything to see them back over here. I've got my V2003 ticket (which I'll be 8 months pregnant when I go to it - but at least I'll get to see the Foo's again!)

i saw the foo's waaay back when, after their first album, at my favorite little concert hall, the newport, in columbus, ohio.

it was years ago, and i got my head smashed open by some fool who was body-surfing with a beer bottle in his hand, BUT it was a great show. this was back when pat smear was on board.

and tom...ohio breeds the coolest people. isn't trent actually from pennsylvania though? i know he recorded pretty hate machine in cleveland...

hey, we got macy gray and marilyn manson...what more proof do you need that blandness breeds brilliance?

I've seen them live. They started and ended the show with a drum-off between Dave & his drummer. It was a great show and I've always liked this band.

Not to mention his drummingon the last QOTSA album.

They also joked last night about hiring a male stripper for one of their crewmembers. The pics are on the front of their web site.

"07.05 - I've got a Foo Fighters fansite, can I use images and content from www.foofighters.com?
If you run a privately owned fansite and do not have any type of commerce running on your site whatsoever, (that means you aren't selling anything), you can use some imagery and content. However, on any page you use our art OR content on, you you must display the HTML tag line and (1) of the two buttons below. The tagline must be clearly visible, and above the fold (meaning users do not have to scroll to see it), but the button may be anywhere on the page:
Some images courtesy of www.foofighters.com

You also must send an email containing the URL of your site to webmaster[at]foofighters[dot]com to notify us of any usage of our artwork or content. Also even if you don't use any of our images and want to use these graphics to link to us, thats cool! All links to the site are appreciated!

Some people have asked us what is acceptable use of artwork? Well let us say, you have a fansite because you want to express your love/hate for the band. Use your creativity, and create something more than a knockoff of www.foofighters.com . Do something different. Don't rip off our design. Use different layout, naming conventions, etc... We are working on some tools for you to use in creation of your sites, such as patterns, font packages, logos, etc... Don't hold your breath though, it will be in the future sometime."

I saw them in concert january 2003 and they were hype!
I was lucky enough to catch them at a small gig they played in auckland, NZ. Apparently they hadn't played for a while and wanted to do a small kind of a practice gig before headlining the big day out festivals in NZ and australia.
So it was in this club called galatos with only about 400 tickets available.
Me and my mates were waiting in line outside with a nice sunset as the backdrop when a van pulled up next to us and dave jumped out. He just hung around outside for a few minutes relaxed and chatting to people. Really he was just like some dude that came to watch the concert, the only difference was the skantily dressed girls that seemed pleased to meet him!

Peace
Music, sweet music, I wish I could caress and...kiss, kiss...

thanks for sharing tom...it's great to see that not all musicians feel the need to strong-arm their fans into not saying anything but glowingly positive drivel.

prince seems to be one of those people whom project a hugely confident, overly arrogant ego in order to compensate for his lack of innate self-esteem.

if i was a guest on jerry springer, the crowd would start chanting, "tell it to dr. phil!"stoned
