I'm feelin' Dwele's new LP

It's nice, smoothed-out organic soul music. He doesn't make the mistake of disturbing the groove of the LP for the purpose of displaying "range." He gives the listeners what they expect and does a top-notch job, IMHO.

it's aight...nothing dynamic, but it's okay. He didn't change very much from the Rize tracks. I'll be interested to see if he ventures out a little more on the next LP.

I don't disagree with that, but sometimes I just want an artist to stay in his/her flow. Maybe he will venture out, but I'll settle for this right now.

"Truth" is my joint but with a few other exceptions I felt let down by this album. It was hyped up as so amazing but tends to retreat into the realms of background music overall IMO.

a dime a dozen. He seems more like Donnell Jones with His Michael Jackson Meets Stevie Wonder vibe.a couple of the cuts had that Slow Cut direction of "Off the Wall" but didn't enter that zone fully IMHO.He ain'the 2nd Coming of D'angelo.R.Kelly or Maxwell.but He has a chance at coming out the box strong next go around though.

Featured on Slum Village's "Tainted" and then he had two unreleased albums "Rize" and "Dwelology" leaked so lining up massive hype that he was better than D'Angelo etc. Well now his official album "Subject" has dropped and folk are backtracking...

I can see that!

1st, I heared one of the DJs from Hot.97 blazing his effort, then I saw in another board folks posting about him now I'm reading a post over here.

Boy, the brotha must be bad, huh? If you have enough time, can you post a small one-on-one review about the LP(including the producers & what not)??

Check the reviews at Amazon.com, Mistermaxxx's should be up within a day or so.

There are a lot of artists in the same vibe, but his vibe is enjoyable. I'm trying to break out of the habit of comparing new artists to the greats. Enjoy the vibe!

Also, the fact that D'Angelo and Maxwell were among the first "neo-soul" wave doesn't mean their product is miles ahead of Dwele, Donnell, Remy, etc.

By the way, how many reviews have you done???

Pretty cool album indeed, but despite the buzz I would never rate him as high as D'Angelo.

I feel ya; at the same time, I think D'Angelo, good as he is, is a touch overrated.
