Years ago I saw her doing a tv interview. What really stands out about that interview was this word she repeated over and over: "clediments." (sp?) I think it was some sorta word for nik-naks or something. So, when ever I would hear her name that word would pop into my head, it did this morning.

I was never really a fan if hers, but I love Johnny Cash and I'm sorry for him that he lost June. He has been very ill himself lately. I hope he does ok. Johnny is a great musician!!

very sad news. i almost missed this thread and was about to scold the org collectively for not acknowledging it. of all people, somehow i knew i could count on Anxiety for this.
great lady, great artist. very important female "country" singer. i'm touched very deeply every time i see the video for Johnny Cash's "Hurt" video, and always especially at the glimpse we get of June toward the middle/end. it's so much more poigniant now. a truly impressive woman, and i feel for Johnny and his loss. sad as it seems, this may spell the end for HIM as well. he's been through the ringer the past few years, and losing June may be enough for him to just let go. sad, but appropriate, and i won't hold it against him. "Her great passion and mission was lifting up my dad. She was his dearest companion, musical partner, soulmate and best friend," -- Rosanne Cash, speaking for her father at June Carter Cash's funeral service.
