I suppose you would like their new CD if they hooked up with a scandalous R&B hitmaker, diluted their sound to sound just like this particular hitmaker, and then changed their names to silly hip-hop monikers like "Mr.Gigantic". and "Mr.Large"..lol...

you use to be cool before you got on your High&Might Madonna tip.also trying to Knock MJ ain't cool to Up Madonna but that's on you.anyway EWF needs Ronnie Laws Back,Larry Dunn,Johnny Graham&find there Groove again.I ain't feeling this Soft Jazz Version of them.the Sheldon Reynolds Era EWF was Boring Man Period.I'd love for EWF to Do something with Quincy Jones,Thom Bell,Rick James,etc... if you must know.they tired doing a R.Kelly take on "in the name of Love" Album with "Crusing'."In the Name of Love" the song had the same Loop as "Insane in the Membrain" by Cypress Hill&I'm Like what was Maurice White&Crew thinking using that played out Loop in 97? Technilogy did alot of Damage to My All-time Favorite Band.not to mention the basic nucleus got replaced by David Foster, among other Session Cats.they ain't been the same on Record in over 20 Years.Maurice White is One of the Greatest Genius's Ever but time caught to them IMHO.Sad to say.I'd take Old Outtake Cuts than a New Album at this Stage easily.BTW what do you think EWF was doing with Wyclef but trying to be down?? think about that&them also working with ?Love from the Roots.need I say more at who was trying to be Hip&taking 6 Years to drop that tired Album.R.Kelly gave the Isley brother's some of there Past&A New Idenity.EWF ain't flipped the script in over 20 Years sadd to say&I'm One of there Biggest fans.

Yes,EW&f have tried,in the past,to compete with current trends and more often than not, they have failed.A few years ago,Maurice was working on new tracks with Wyclef but he recently explained that "hip-hop really isn't our thing" and he's right. That's why the new CD is so refreshing. It's a *REAL* Earth Wind and Fire album, for the longtime fan. They're not trying to compete with P.Diddy or Jay Z,they made an album for their fans! The new album is jazzy,it features many musical interludes (like on the old albums),Maurice is back handling lead vocals, and there's alot of kalimba on this record. There are no trendy R&B producers or some silly hip-hop cameos.EW&F doesn't need that garbage. It is a TRUE return to form and if you are a longtime EW&F fan,you would appreciate this.EW&F is my favorite band and I would hate for them to make a trendy sounding album that sounds like everything else on the radio.

it has Nice Music but nothing stands out outside of a cut or two.not knock-out Material IMHO.I'd take Old Rare Stuff with Charles Stephaney was Co-Producing.I ain't feeling all that Smooth Jazz stuff they are doing as a Band.it's ok with Philip Bailey Solo or Maurice's Side project with Ramsey Lewis Urban Knights or Ralph White's Solo Project.
