The Isley Brothers set to top the Billboard album chart

From MTV.com:

After more than 49 years in the music business, the Isley Brothers
scored their first #1 album debut. The group's new record, Body Kiss,
sold 155,000 copies its first week on shelves, according to SoundScan
figures released Wednesday (May 14), besting their 2001 album,
Eternal, which debuted at #3.

The Isleys' top position on next week's Billboard albums chart has a
lot to do with the roster of guest talent on the LP. Eleven of 12
tracks were produced and arranged by R. Kelly, and the disc features
Snoop Dogg on the song "I Like" and Lil' Kim on the title track.

Actually I just might have to buy this cd. Good to a soulful record making an impact on the charts. That can only help.

Sounds really cool. I'm very proud of them. I almost got it but was a little bit thrown by the fact that Lil' Kim and Snoop were on there. Just doesn't sound cool but it sounds like people are really talking it up. I haven't even bought "Eternal" yet and I loved that single. I guess I have some catchig up to do. Very happy for the Isley Bros!

Their new cd is Excellent...they deserve to be number 1. But isn't it a shame that it took almost 50 years for the legendary group to get a number 1 debut album.
They are indeed trendsetters...how many other groups have sustained success this long. Looks like Mr. Biggs broke up the youngsters on the chart and showed them how it's done.fro

Amazing because Black Acts passed there 40's rarely are given half the time let alone seeing this kind of Success.the Isley Brothers are as Important as Any Act over the past 50 Years IMHO.

It's safe to get it. The guest spots don't ruin the effect the Isleys have. I raised a brow myself when I saw that, but got it anyway and am glad I did.
