L-Boogie Drum Up & Rock Up Her New LP(More Info) This is a follow up 2 Manki's thread:
From Rolling Stone.com: Lauryn Drumming Up Next CD Hill to pick up sticks in a Miami house Lauryn Hill is wrapping up her long-awaited studio follow-up to her 1998, Grammy-sweeping The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill. She is producing the record herself and just relocated the sessions to a house in Miami. "She's writing new songs every day," says the album's engineer John D. Thomas, a Grammy winner himself for his work with Columbian singer Carlos Vives. "I've worked on about twenty-two." As on her 2002 live MTV Unplugged No. 2.0 album, Hill accompanies her singing and rapping on guitar. She also plays percussion and is set to play drums. Members of reggae legends the Wailers guest on some tracks, and Thomas describes the new material as "more rock and soul" than the hip-hop-leaning Miseducation. As yet, there are no concrete plans for the album's release. | |
