I used to go out with a girl whom looked like a clone of
Sophie B Hawkins. I mean, exact replica. I would annoy
the hell out of her by never shutting up about that. I
think that's why she gave me the boot in the end. Ah well
that's, what, about 10 years ago this summer.

I like the song though smile
and true love lives on lollipops and crisps

I was just thinking about that song recently, interestingly enough. I always thought that chick sang "I'll f*** you till the daylight comes. I used to wonder how she got away with that.

Actually "As I Lay Me Down" did nearly just as well on the pop charts (number 6 while "Lay" was 5). And "As I Lay Me Down", a light ballad, was probably a much bigger hit becuase it got more radio play over time.

I really like Sophie. I have both of those albums from Sophie but don't listen to them at all. I think I got them free/cheap from Columbia House. I wish I could get a Greatest Hits album but I don't see one listed. Cloudbuster, where did you see a hits collection?

Hey, does she have a couple of younger sisters? Cousins? Nieces?

If she won't love you no more maybe her sister will. (As Jimi said in Red House!)innocent

If you don't mind me adding to the thread I found a nice interview with Sophie at:

http://www.bankrate.com/b...odtype=grn

This is the same site with a nice Shelia E. interview a while back. There's even a nice interview with Rick James. (Believe it or not!)

She talks about the importance of ownership which is related to what Prince has been saying about the music business.
