I remember the "Word Power" album being way ahead of it's time. Have to dig it out to fully appreciate it, I guess... Everybody is special. Everybody. Everybody is a hero, a lover, a fool, a villain. Everybody. Everybody has their story to tell.

Divine styler was the one who pioneered the third eye rhyme style. He also was a dope producer. He had the cult single "Saying Nothing" In the mid of the conscience scene with Dela,Tribe Divine Styler went left. He started playing guitar and listening to Jimmy Page and Hendrix. He also experimented with LSD After his LSD detox he went back to work on his second album. All of a sudden Divine Styler wanted to do a abstract spoken word album called "Spiral Walls containing Autumns of Light" with musical collages behind it combining tribal techno, industrial, funk, rock, metal, blues, It became the least selling album to date of the Giant records album catalog. Divine became disenchanted with the scene. So he left and became a graphic designer and made a pilgrimage to Mecca. In the mid 90's Everlast became interested in Divine Styler and his muslim teachings. House of Pain's last album featured him on 4 tracks. He also did one track on Whitey Ford. In 1998 Word Power 2 was released on his own DTX label. Immediately people like Saul Williams and Mos Def were praising his return. The last I knew Divine Styler wanted to make one of the great pioneering statement records next time out. Word Power 2 was kind of tame. He emceed over his own hip hop driven somewhat spaced out beats. Divine is one of the best in the game. As a lyricist/producer/conceptualist other fans include Questlove... Before there was Common/Mos Def/Saul Williams/Tricky There was Divine Styler... He is a cult icon for Hip Hop and not a bad self taught guitarist as well. Divine was way ahead of the game when he dropped Word Power. You ask Qtip and he will tell you the same thing. Funny/Intelligent/insightful/controversial and one of the illest voices Hip hop has ever heard. He has yet to reach his potential. Whatever he does next will be interesting.
