Does Anybody know N'Dea Davenport

I bought her self-titled and only LP since 98 and I'm enjoying it ever since. Very well produced and the jazzy feel all over the set ain't bad too. She was a former member from the British funk revivalists "the Brand New Heavies".

She's compared 2 fellow vocalists Adriane Evans & Amel Larrieux but personaly I think each of them have her unique sound.

Anyway, does anybody have her joint?

Been diggin N'dea since BNH days, and her appearance on the first Jazzmatazz joint where she sung a few tracks for Guru.

Her self-titled 98 CD is much slept on by many. It's very well produced, cohesive, and is one of those cds that you can play from beginning to end without wanted to skip a track.

I was lucky to stumble upon the Japanese release which had two bonus tracks (the guru remix of "Bring It On" and a blues joint called "Feel No Pain" that features a slight Indian vocal sample and Indian percussion). Def worth it.

I wonder what she's up to these days.

I only know her from Brand New Heavies before Siedah Garrett took her place. She also used to be a backing singer for Madonna' I think she's on the True Blue album.

In my humble opinion, N'Dea Davenport and the BNH were a perfect match. In fact, I would've preferred more songs featuring her than instrumentals, though they were cool, too. Siedah Garrett just didn't fit. It wasn't as bad as Cynthia Rhodes from "Dirty Dancing" becoming the lead singer in Animotion, but it didn't work, nonetheless.

Speaking of Siedah, the video for that song "K-I-S-S-I-N-G" featured some funky, prince-like, Jesse-like, guitar work.

Bring back Video Soul!!!

I like N'Dea nod Loved her w/ BNH, not to wowed by her solo effort though. Track 3 kills me (Save Your Love for Me??) but I rarely pull that one out. I'd love her to come out again smile

I'm a HUGE BNH fan!

N'Dea and BNH was just a marriage made in heaven.

She did a track on their latest album, but that CD was a BIG dissappointment.

I don't think it's out in the UK yet, Japanese only release so far as far as I know.
