Recommendations i was just wondering what other artists your guys recomend that are similiar to prince. i already have a pretty extensive collection of james brown, earth wind and fire, george clinton, sly stone, and tower of power. what are some other artists in the same vein as these bands?
just so you know, my favorite type of prince's music is everlasting now and hide the bone. anyways, thanks for your time. | |

Hey Jonno,
If you are looking for more funk check out Ohio Players between '70 and '76, Kool & The Gang before '77, Fela Kuti for that African funk, Beck's "Midnite Vultures" album(the best Prince album Prince didn't make!), New Birth, Red Hot Chili Peppers(especially Freaky Styley!)...I could go on and on but I'm sure others will contibute...Funk keeps rolling! -----------------------------------------------

Terence Trent D'Arby / Sananda Maitryea (as he calls himself now) is an incredibly talented artist.
