***"Runaway Lover"(2000)---I can't believe that the great William Orbit produced this forgettable song!
***"Amazing"(2000)---ditto ***"American Pie"(2000) ***"I'm Going Bananas"(1990) ***"Rescue Me"(1990) ***"Bedtime Story"(1994) ***"Don't Stop"(1994)---filler dance track that should have been replaced by the superior "Let Down Your Guard" ***"Hanky Panky"(1990) ***"Nothing Really Matter"(1998)---the weakest track from 'Ray Of Light'.Why did they release it as a single?? ***"Jimmy Jimmy"(1986)---truly dreadful song!

I agree with most of your list, especially that "Nothing Really Matters" was a poor choice for a single, although I now like it. "Bedtime Story" is my absolute fave from that album, though, and "Hanky Panky" tops my list from "I'm Breathless." Different strokes, I guess!

Alot of fans love the song "Bedtime Story" but I never really cared for it that much. There were much better songs from that album that should have been singles ("Inside Of Me" and "Forbidden Love",for example).

It's kinda like an early Madonna rap song.

'I'm Breathless' is probably the worst Madonna album.I have tried to enjoy it for what it is...a collection of fun showtunes inspired by her role in the film 'Dick Tracy'.And there is an undenible charm to some of the songs. But,in the end,it's simply a weak album and I don't listen to it that often. The song "Vogue",of course,is brilliant!

Thanks, DavidEye; I have "tried to enjoy it for what it is" too, but it just doesn't work for me. I'm not so much into "Santa Baby" either for the same reason that whatever campy thing that is supposed to evoke but doesn't with me, like I'm Breathless - it's just too cutesy.

I actually like I'm Breathless. Her voice is really fun. It helps that I like Dick Tracy too. I prefer it to American Life!!!

You're breaking my heart! Nothing Really Matters is one of my favorite tracks from Ray Of Light!I will agree it was a poor choice for a sinlge as it's not very "pop." But, I think it's a great song! I can't come up with a definitive top 10. But I will say Rain is probably my least favorite Madonna song, EVER. Yup, that's right, it annoys me more than "Runaway Lover" even. I'm unsure why, but I've intensely disliked this track since it 1st came out.

My main problem with "Nothing Really Matters" is that it sounds too conventional. The rest of the 'ROL' album is bold, challenging and unlike anything else she had ever done. But "Nothing..." sounds like rather ordinary,by comparison. I love "Rain".And I love her performance of it on the 'Girlie Show' DVD.

By the way, what do you guys think of the 1994 song "Let Down Your Guard"? It was the B-side of "Secret".It's a kickass song that should have made it onto the 'Bedtime Stories' CD.It could have replaced the filler track "Don't Stop".Anyone agree?

!! Totally. Those hiphop drums are bangin'. Dallas Austin must have produced it. That song has also aged better than "Don't Stop". The lyrics on "Don't Stop" are just sort of on auto-pilot and not really inspired at all, the type of shit I dis J.Lo for. I bought the "Secret" cassingle before the album came out but the b-side was just an instrumental of "Secret" (I'm in Canada). But when I discovered "Let Down Your Guard" last year on the innanet, I couldn't believe what I had been missing.

"Let Down Your Guard" is on the "Secret" maxi-single,although in some countries, that song may have been deleted. The maxi CD I have is a German import containing these songs... "Secret" (edit) 4:30 "Let Down Your Guard (rough mix edit)" 4:33 "Secret" (instrumental) 5:04 "Secret" (LP version) 5:03

lol @ 'Jimmy Jimmy' because I used to sing that a lot when I was younger, thanks for reminding me...reminds me of 'Hey Mickey' also...
I won't list the 'bad' ones, but "I remember', 'Who's that girl', and 'Love makes the world go round'...I don't see as 'bad' songs... I suppose many hear liked 'White Heat'. I wasn't too fond of it back then, but I haven't heard it in so long, I think I'd like to hear it again... [This message was edited Mon May 5 18:22:38 PDT 2003 by Starmist7]

Again, the poor girl just NEEDS to be turned out to pasture. That's her new single "Hollywood".I actually love that part ("push the button, don't push the button, trip the station, change the channel").

One problem I have with the 'True Blue' album is that there are so many synths,it's all over that record! That was pretty much the norm back in the 80s,but it gets annoying really quickly. The best thing about that album is the ballad "Live To Tell".There are some other cool songs, but overall,I'd say that the album is her most dated-sounding.
