I Miss Shalamar Wouldn't be great if Jody Wately and the rest of the Shalamar crew got 2ghether again on a reunion LP?? I wish she and Howard 4get about their past and start over again cuz both of them knew how to make beautiful music. I was listeninig 2 their GH LP and I almost 4got how I adored them when I was a kid. Watching Jody and her funky dance moves in The Soul Train was priceless too.

that's one of my fave songs by shalamar...i have a copy of the three for love album. i should start gettin more of their albums...uptown festival, big fun (i love that cover  )...

OMG! I can't believe there's a Shalamar thread! Whoo-hoo! I thought about posting one today because I heard the Velvelettes "He Was Really Sayin' Something" on Radio@Netscape's Motown Sound station. Remember Shalamar singing this in "Uptown Festival?" Before today, I can't recall ever having heard the original.

Funny you mention this; I've had Shalamar's "Take That To The Bank" stuck in my head for days now. I don't know why, since I haven't heard it lately. They're one of the few groups I'd love to see reunite. This post not for the wimp contingent. All whiny wusses avert your eyes. | |

Hell yeah! Shalamar was the group. They don't make good soul like that anymore. From what I understand there will probably never be a reunion. I guess Jody Watley is not intersted in reuniting...her and Howard had a falling out years ago. But Howard still presses on in his solo career and has made some good albums himself. But now I'm a bit confused... I'm refering to the woman in the picture with the blond. I think she looks like Delisa. I know the woman between Micki and Howard is Delisa.
