Lady Gaga Mayhem album

I didn't think I would like the new album Mayhem but for the most part I think it is great. Her best since The Fame Monster in my opinion. Good job this time, Gaga.

Is the left eye symbolism a trope at this point? Sorry to distract from the music, but she's as much a visual artist as she is a talented musician

Still it's nice to know, when our bodies wear out, we can get another

I am not a Gaga fan.

I started hate-watching the first segment of the Mayhem Ball (intro through "Scheiße"). That fucking "Abracadabra" song got me going. The whole thing was really theatrical.

Somehow I relented and took a listen to Mayhem. I found myself liking it. There are a lot of nods and influences on the record. It's certainly a dark, Gothic sorta album, but still radio friendly. It's solid.

I don't know much of her past records except whatever was in the press. While I enjoy Mayhem, I'm visiting her discography to have a full Gaga transformation. But I will get Mayhem its flowers.

I like this album and think 2/3 works nicely. The duet doesn’t really fit but Gaga thought otherwise so all is good.

I think this album is best with bonus tracks "Can't Stop The High" and "Kill For Love" tacked into their respective places, and without "Dead Dance" and "Die With a Smile" tacked onto it.

I know it's all about numbers, but "Blade of Grass" is a great closer, whereas "Die With A Smile" doesn't fit on this album at all to me.

Screaming. Panting. Making Noise.

Good suggestion for the tone and balance

It has grown on me with repeated listens. Despite a few songs that just don't do anything for me, several songs have left groove marks in my mind. The first five songs - Disease, Abacadabra, Garden of Eden, Perfect Celebrity, and Vanish Into You is an amazing start for a pop album.

I don't know why "How Bad Do You Want Me" wasn't a Taylor Swift duet, but it sounds exactly like a TS song.

I totally agree. All tge vocalizations and sweetners are exactly like Taylor. For me, it was one of the songs that didin't appeal to me for that reason though it is catchy.
