I was surprised by discovering Judith Hill's show performance Washington, DC this week--not that that in itself is a surprise, because DC is an attractive cultural touchstone like that and a central stop among the east-coast-touring musicians' itineraries--but only a few weeks earlier I hadn't seen this stop on her scheudle and the only other nearest shows that I did see were a coulpe of states away. > Happily surprised as I was, I got my ticket the morning of and went! The audience that night appeared to be small, which I felt was disappointing because of this woman's tremendous talents. I can't imagine how she must have felt to see unfilled seats--showbiz is hard. She humbly stepped on the stage, then and asserted herself masterfully in no-time-flat! She and her band put on a show that was rare to me in its vitality, emotiveness and passion. And of course it was all tight! She also had sage words to extend to us all through her gems of reflection expressed between some of her songs--just enough to be acknowledged, eliucidated and encouraged. > At the end after her encore, leaving the stage shredded, she most generously called thanks to her "DC angels" audience. Well, beleive me folks--she's our angel entertainer who wields the arts of instrumentation and vocalization as implements of love and affection with high dedication! > From the bottom of my heart, affected from that night, I'll finally say that y'all need to go see her show if you can and be revived!

She is beast and getting better all the time. I find it crazy that she just picked up a guitar just 5/6 years ago. Graycap23 was ME! | |
