The Troubled Soul of a Group I've always had this theory that so many bands, while riding high or doing well, have a troubled soul that leaves or otherwises fucks up the mojo and momentum of the group. Sometimes the whole group implodes, sometimes it's that one member that stands out as "more talented," or is the constant irritant causing rifts and others to fight back. Someone that throws a wrench into the original make-up of the group.

Def John frusciante. Red hot chili peppers have rebuilt their entire vibe to keep him comfortable. But it's worth it. I would say peter hook, but he really doesn't seem troubled. On the contrary, I think he's just way too down to earth to handle how big his band (new order) became and the egos that surround that. On the other hand, he does seem a bit of a man child.

You forgot Prince of Prince and The Revolution. "The whole problem with the world is that fools and fanatics are always so certain of themselves. And wiser people so full of doubts." (Bertrand Russell 1872-1972)

With due respect because we're pals, St. Paul of The Family. He jetted way too soon. At least play out the promotion and campaign of it all. Ride that paycheck. "Rich Man" will be there by 1987. Every day when I awake, the greatest of joys is mine: that of being ME.

I'd have to throw my musical mother Chaka Khan in the mix. As Rufus hit their pinnacle in 1977, things were falling a part behind the scenes. From stories I heard, even though she claims the problems stemmed from the guys always out-voting her over which songs to record, she was the main source of contention. She was receiving all of the critical and public praise, she allowed her husband at the time to contribute to the internal strife causing Andre Fischer to leave, she was the shinning star and she was being courted by labels to go solo. Bobby Watson has a channel on youtube. He speaks on a lot of things Chaka seemed to forget in her autobiography. "It's not nice to fuck with K.B.! All you haters will see!" - Kitbradley
