Chaka Khan Appreciation Thread

.

Somebody on this board called Chaka Khan a Prince protege... Hell, no! Chaka was putting out great music with Rufus way back in the 70s! And she continued to put out great music in the ensuing decades although the flow diminished. Her work with Prince was stellar but she definitely was not some female protege. And although her bouts with drug addiction on and off since the 70s dtalled her life and career, I think it was great that after Prince passed away from a Fentynal overdose, Chaka and her sister immediately went into drug rehabilalitation for the same problem. If Prince had done it sooner, he would still be with us...

.

I saw Chaka Khan at a local club in 2012 and her passionate voice was still great! cool

.

This was the album from 1975 that made me a huge Chaka Khan fan when I was a kid... Spinning the vinyl now and it is still a great album. Funny how some of the songs still apply in the current...climate.

. Well, the album I have is the original... lol

This was the album that turned me out when I was a kid. I had never heard or saw anyone like Chaka. She set a fire within my 5 year old soul. Been die-hard ever since.
