Yacht Rock: A DOCKumentary - MAX I watched Yacht Rock: A DOCKumentary on MAX last night. It was a well woven narrative about the soft-rock of the late 70s and early 80s, then how it ended, and what happened to a lot of those guys.
A lot of cool full circle moments in it. Questlove offers great insight into the genre, as well as those who played the music. Sorry, it's the Hodgkin's talking.

Excellent observations! Finding new music is always energizing, particularly when it has such a deep history and is praised by a variety of musicians. It's definitely worth checking out Steely Dan's distinctive sound. I will also need to peruse their catalog! [Edited 12/2/24 1:36am]

I've seen this listed on the tv guide but didn't pay it much mind as "soft rock" was never my thing and I've never heard the term "Yacht Rock" until last weeek. * Read this thread on yesterday, caught it on tv, and came in on the story about how K. Loggins and M. McDonald collaborated for "What A Fool Believes" (had no idea that K. Loggins co-wrote that) so I hit RECORD to come back to it. * Turned out, Whitney's '94 Durbin concert was on PBS so I watched that for a while but that's for another thread... * I think y'all know by now that I'm not a Bot...
