Recorded in August 1974 at Abby Road Studios,it's a live-in-the-studio recording that was supposed to be part of a documentary film.At the time,Paul and the band were riding high with their hugely successful 'Band On The Run' album. These recordings were never released but have been bootlegged by fans for many many years. It's so nice to finally see an official release!

One Hand Clapping, a live studio album by Paul McCartney and Wings, was recorded at Abbey Road Studios in London over four days in August 1974. The sessions were part of the filming of a 55-minute documentary of the same name, which also featured the band performing live in the studio and offering voice-over interviews. The album and documentary were originally intended for release, but despite high demand, they were never officially released and have been bootlegged for decades

On June 14, 2024, the album and documentary were finally officially released, with newly mixed discs and 12 previously unreleased tracks. The two-disc set includes the 15 songs featured in the documentary, plus another disc of 12 songs recorded during the sessions. The vinyl version also comes with a seven-inch "backyard" tape featuring five previously unreleased solo acoustic tracks recorded in Abbey Road's backyard

This is a nice companion piece to the 'Band On The Run' 50th Anniversary 2-CD set that came out several months ago.

Love it, and to nail them live in studio is sick, especially that Band on The Run version.

Paul McCartney and Wings'... Goes Wide
Half a century after Paul McCartney and Wings took a studio vacation at Abbey Road to film their Band on the Run tour rehearsals, that picture, One Hand Clapping, is finally getting a wide release. This complements this year’s One Hand Clapping soundtrack album. The movie will start getting screenings around the world beginning on Sept. 26. The picture will feature a new introduction by McCartney, the “backyard session,” where McCartney sings Buddy Holly songs with only his acoustic guitar, and previously unseen polaroids from the sessions. Tickets will go on sale Aug. 16, with full details on a special website for the film.
