Yes, indeed.
I am speechless. It's one day only so I imagine there will be a lot of short sets for many acts, kind of hard to predict how much time the acts you really want to see are going to get it looks like there is three stages...this is outside in August first day of a major holiday weekend. The O'Jays are going to KILL it. El Debarge is going to ABSOLUTELY kill it. I might have to ditch P-Funk for Lionel Richie and Diana Ross, looks like they are both playing the same time, I HAVE to see Diana Ross before I die. I assume there's no Jody Watley and I also assume there's no Jesse Johnson. Man this is in the heart of L.A. the big time despite "the format" this is not going to be some cheesy oldies cruise, I have to assume cats are going to step up their game and come with it even for a one-off event. Al Green? I am so fucking there for his set! Ernie Isley playing his ass off at like 4 in the afternoon in August? THERE!!!! |

That's practically a "who's who" of everyone in classic r&b. Lionel Richie and The Commodores (well...acutally only one "Commodore" left in that group) on the same bill is interesting. | |
