"Honky-Tonk Skeezer" should be the name of the album. People thought I was joking when I said I was surprised she doesnt have a Grammy for Best Bluegrass album. But it looks like that is next on her list of awards.

Is she going to claim to be the first artist to do multiple genres? They tried that nonsense when she did a video for every song, they didnt realize ALOT of artists had done that. So I am guessing this will be that once again, "first ever artist to..."

Come through Lovesexy vibes!

But honestly I ain't mad at this.

I hope she dominates the country landscape and gets massive airplay on country radio, if for no other reason than to shake things up a little and just to see is the audiece will accept Beyonce in that space.

Because there will be pushback. L'il Nas X was initially flat out rejected until he was bullied into the space because to me "Old Town Road" has miniscule country in its DNA whereas Beyonce's tracks seem more pure country to me.

We'll see if they play her.

Honestly if I was a female country artist and she got played I would be pissed. Not because its Beyonce, but the Country genre at least for Airplay its way way dominated by Male, across the board, there is a huge on line/ social media collective about this going on because there are thousands of Country females not even coming close to play on any radio, I forgot the actual breakdown but the females are releasing three times the music and the males are getting close to 90% of the air time.

Agreed but there is no chance that country radio will embrace Beyonce. She has been open in her support of the LGBTQ+ community and is a woman who sings about enjoying sex for herself and not to just service a beer drinking man in a truck outside a honky tonk

lil nas x's country was a gimmick and not really much country in there

so overhyped on that front

this beyonce album will prob be more like bobby womack or ray charles' country albums (i hope), ie a rnb singer doing country for a whole album, though beyonce is doing it in a very different era to those two guys

Yeah X's "Old Town Road" is about as country as Madonna's "Don't Tell Me".

I Like the song very much. Catchy melody!

Video is crap, honestly. Looks pretty low cost.

Costume change after costume change in front of an empty hay container.

She can't lasso.

And do cowboys actually dance like that? Nah.

Does she look good? Yes. Always.

What does she see in Jay-Z? I don't know.

Am I a big Beyoncé fan? Not really.

Will she make musical history (like Prince did? Nah, nope.

Does anyone remember one song from her last album? Guess not.

Does her promo machinery work well? Always.

-

Why doesn't she do a real funk album?

A Prince funk album?

I agree and really can't deny her talent. Maybe it's a breath of fresh air.

Is it only me or do I hear Pricne all over "16 carriages"...

I mean his spirit, his way of constructing a song, how to build it up.

Sounds fantastic, if this would've been a duet with Prince.

I can imagine his voice screaming and shouting all over the song intertwined with Queen B's.

And what a great song that "16 Carriages".

I definitely hear the prince influence...i also hear it in the last 15-20 seconds of Texas Hold Em before the song ends

Maybe AI can help a hand to create a duet between those two on this song. wink

Why the hell not...
