Those 3 have been slinging dirt and mud at each other for years...they clearly and deeply hate each other...and Howard Hewett has always had a bad reputation as an arrogant ass...Jody also says that Jeffrey Daniels used to physically beat her up...Shalamar's legacy is in total shambles

yeah and it's really a shame.I don't expect to ever see a reunion of these three.

I recall an interview with Howard I believe I saw it on youtube last year where he was reaching out to Jody. He said she was upset because he told her she would be nothing withiut Shalamar. He admitted she proved him wrong because her solo career proved far more successful than his. I didnt know she had issues with Jeffrey too. So sad. I would never expect a reunion but was hoping they would heal those old wounds.

Way back when the Bands Reunited series was happening their was a backstage pass episode which showed reunions they never got enough footage for or got shut down right away, and Shalamar was one of them, Howard was the only one they went too, he said "I'll do it but I doubt you can talk to the others" and sure enough I believe Jody shut them down via message to not even approach her about it. And this was 2004-05 I believe when that show was on the air.

It really sucks when bands have “issues” that prevent them from ever working together again.Look at what’s happening with Hall and Oates right now. It’s the loyal fans who suffer the most.

Unfortunately, thats life...on and off stage...whether its music bands, sports teams, or a girlfriend & boyfriend or a husband & wife...people have different personalities, beliefs, and agendas...and the hands of time will often tear people apart. And it can often be ugly and hurtful...especially when its in public view.

a bit different with hall and Oates first because of the public demand and the back catalog. I mean I like shalamar but they have been done for a long time, at least that version, and they just don't have the demand or back catalog where I could see them being coaxed to swallow their pride and do something. I mean hall and Oates I could see thought it's doubtful playing shows again, because John's solo career and live at Daryl's as good as it may be, is not as a good as a few checks from a summer tour.

To hear that a band can't work together due to "issues" is frustrating.Behold the current state of affairs involving Hall and Oates. The diehard supporters take the brunt of it.

interestingly,in the 90s,Babyface was able to "reunite" Howard,Jody and Jeffrey on his uptempo remake of "This Is For The Lover In You",But he had even bigger plans for the group. He wanted to sign them to his label and produce a Shalamar comeback album eek Face was red-hot at that time and I bet the album would have been huge. What a missed opportunity.

LOL I kinda forgot about Micki Free's "Shalamar" with Delisa Davis... and that ex-football player?? I DO remember being asked to a taping of some late-night music show at ABC studios back in the day and hearing that Shalamar was going to perform. Skeptical since it was only a year after Jody's debut album, I was later confused and let down when three unrecognizable randoms took stage. I was actually there to see Jill Jones. Anyway, its sad that folks are still up to these kind of "Games" 35(!!!) years later. (I had to Google the song I watched "Shalamar" lip-sync that night). And I'm ROLLING at the Katt Williams reference! 😂 I'll ALWAYS support Jody... for being the liberating soundtrack to my youth, a cultural icon, and a TRUE artist. (ps, "Still A Thrill" is the best music video EVER made... period, dot) ❤
