Return of the king: Elvis hologram show to premiere in London

https://www.theguardian.c...n-premiere

“Elvis Evolution, an “immersive concert experience” using AI and holographic projection, will premiere in London in November, with shows also planned in Las Vegas, Tokyo and Berlin.”

https://elvis.layeredreality.com/

“Elvis fans can look forward to a memory-making experience like no other. Through AI and groundbreaking tech you’ll be able to witness iconic Elvis performances as if you were really there, and celebrate defining moments in Elvis Presley’s extraordinary life and career. After the show, the central London venue will also host an After Party at its ELVIS-themed restaurant and bar with live music, DJs and performances.”

I think there is a high chance that in the next five years there’ll be a Prince show like this in the works, possibly with a live band, such as members of The Revolution and/or The NPG.
There may or may not be something coming!

When I said the next five years, what I should have said in about five hours the estate will announce a Broadway stage show of Purple Rain.

The live stage musical idea I'm open to--if done right. A great job was done with the Tina Turner musical. Of course, Tina was here to oversee and approve it's development.

Too far away for me. I'm still waiting on the Liberace one. I'd go out of curiousity. I used to watch him as a kid so it would be nostalgic to me.

ABBA - theft.

I'm sure in ten years from now we only see these kind of shows.

even from the living artist, that don't like to tour.

Expect Prince's very soon - or better, don't give the estate to much ideas. wink

Although I prefer a hologram Prince over a fucking musical.

I saw the ABBA hologram show in London last year. It was amazing--so amazing that I'm looking for an excuse to travel across the Atlantic to see it again. From where I was sitting last time, if you had told me that those were four real people on stage, I would have believed you.

But that show is unique in that the group is still alive to record their movements using motion capture technology. With Elvis, AI will be making it all up on its own.

There are enough Elvis movies and imagery for AI to learn from...

I'm not saying it can't be done well--only that it will be different from what was done with ABBA.

Absolutely.

It won't take long before they do 'Prince',

or Miles Davis...
