These threads aren't popular any more but thought I would try again. Been after this vinyl album of Tina Turner doing country songs for a long time and finally got it for cheap in a six LP collection, including Stephanie Mills and Syreeta for $20. Tina sounds great doing country, as she did with all the other genres she did. What are the latest albums or songs you've been after for a long time and finally got...in whatever shape or form?

^^^ That is a nice haul, Joe Bala! Just got this rare vinyl of Tina Turner; love it but wish I could find a Mint t copy. I especially love her version of "Lay It Down." And a "Good Hearted Woman."

Hey PT where are you getting all this cool Tina stuff from? eBay or local records store? I mostly get mine thrifting or eBay if I really want it.

Hey, Joe Bala. I just keep an eye on Ebay and Discogs for bargains (relatively lol) that pop up once in a while. Thrift store pickings are slim around here unfortunately.

Finally, got a mint unopened copy of Tina Turner Goes Country on Discogs for a fair price and it sounds terrific! Much better than the used copy.

Been lisening to a lot of Bill Evans piano music...it makes me feel something and I'm not sure what it is but I like it.

I've had a friend turn me on to a group of Jazz music and it's really cool to discover really good older music that I feel like I need to know about.

I love Bill Evans! One day a couple of years ago I caught a concert on YouTube and I was hooked! One of my faves is the Right Left album.

Yeah, there's something about his playing that really connects with me.

That's a great album and it's the era of his work I'm most into.

Thanks, Joe Bala! I also want to add this note for vinyl lovers who have old Japanese made stereo recievers and turntables like I do... Don't forget to take care of the old stereo recievers like you do the Technics turntables! I sent some new vinyl records back due to "sound issues" but then I realized the sound issues were due to to the fact I didn't clean the dust out of the sound slide controls on the stereo reciever and spray it once a year with DeoxIT contact cleaner like I do the turntable!. Once I did that--even the oldest vinyl records sound new again! It's all about maintenance when you get old...and when the well made sound equipment gets old!

The Beatles Red & Blue albums reissues on vinyl. The sound is great! I am the Walrus in particular, I am hearing stuff i never heard before. But man, is this thing bringing back memories. I wore my original cassettes OUT back in the day.

I am not a huge fan of the new Now & Then tune...but its nice to have it on here. I was surprised Free as a Bird and Real Love aren't on here.

I saw that--awesome deal. They didn't have anything I wanted but I hope you could take advantage of it. For myself, I initially dismissed Dolly Parton's loooong Rockstar 4 LP set...but after listening to it online while I cooked today I decided I really like it and ordered it.

Wow! Can't believe I got hold of a sealed immaculate vinly copy of Chaka Khan's "Chanka" LP. Probably the best old sealed LP I've bought so far sound wise. Absolutely pristine! Cover, inner sleeve, and the vinyl is perfect and unwarped. Can't believe how brand new this album sounds... More than worth the $16 I paid for it.
