The legendary R&B group — Ricky Bell, Bobby Brown, Michael Bivins, Ronnie DeVoe, Johnny Gill, and Ralph Tresvant — will begin their residency on Feb. 28, 2024. Their six-show experience will conclude March 9, 2024.
Artist presale begins Wednesday, Nov. 8, at 10 a.m. and ends Thursday, Nov. 9 at 10 p.m. PT. Tickets go on sale to the general public Friday, Nov. 10 at 10 a.m. PT.
New Edition first teased a Las Vegas residency in 2021 after signing with the talent agency Creative Artists Agency (CAA). In 2022, they launched their headlining Culture Tour with special guests Charlie Wilson and Jodeci.
Earlier this spring, New Edition traveled across the U.S. on their headlining Legacy Tour. Keith Sweat, Guy, and Tank joined them on the road as special guests.
New Edition recently paid tribute to The Spinners at the 2023 Rock & Roll Hall of Fame ceremony, held on Friday (Nov. 3).
They performed three of the soul group’s classics: “I’ll Be Around,” “Could It Be I’m Falling in Love” and “The Rubberband Man.”
Their performance also honored Soul Train host Don Cornelius, who was also part of the 2023 inductees, along with Chaka Khan, The Spinners, Missy Elliott and more.
In June, New Edition gained three new certifications from the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA).
Their single “Can You Stand the Rain,” from their 1988 album Heart Break, was certified 2x platinum for selling over two million equivalent units. It’s their most certified song to date.
The song peaked at No. 1 on Billboard’s Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart and spent two weeks atop the list.
Additionally, they collected a platinum award for “If It Isn’t Love,” which also appears on Heart Break. The Jimmy Jam & Terry Lewis-produced track peaked at No. 2 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart.
They also scored a gold award for “Mr. Telephone Man,” lifted from their self-titled sophomore album. The single has sold over 500,000 equivalent units to date.
Earlier this year, New Edition celebrated the 40th anniversary of their debut album, Candy Girl. Released in March 1983, the album was produced by Maurice Starr and Arthur Baker. It included the singles “Candy Girl,” “Is This the End” and “Popcorn Love.”
The album’s lead single and title track reached No. 46 on the Billboard Hot 100, while “Is This the End” peaked at No. 85.
They also celebrated the 35th anniversary of Heart Break, released in June 1988. It peaked at No. 12 on the Billboard 200 and No. 3 on the Top R&B Albums charts.
In 2024, New Edition’s self-titled second album will turn 40, while their seventh album, One Love, will celebrate its 20th anniversary. New Edition’s Las Vegas Residency 2024 DatesFeb 28, 2024
