Better late than never. The Victory tour footage looks lovely all cleaned up. Also makes me sad we don't have a Blu-Ray of that tour still, and probably never will either.

Not everything just translates to bluray for the heck of it, though. The "Billie Jean" video was barely tolerable. The footage that has leaked has been - well, worse than the Syracuse video. I'm not always sure everything can be so easily cleaned up. It's unfortunate, but a video from 1984 isn't necessary ripe for a remaster.

I hate it, because my aunt went two the opening show in Kansas, and a Dallas show the next week. I was so into Victory, and I missed that the only real footage was from "Billie Jean." (I'm so goddamn tired of that song. LOL)

It's funny as I dig the album but as a musician, I really find that album 2 be bore in almost every way. Mj took advantage of the "video" in the early 80's because musically that album really isnt that good lyrically or musically.

I think everyone over 45 just has ear fatigue from it at this point. It's not that it's not a great record, but how many fucking times have we played it, danced to it, had it on the background, at a party, while making dinner, or whatever?

I know every fucking note on that record, and if I never hear it again, it could be too soon.

Thriller (the entire album) will never be boring for me...it is Halloween now and once again I am hearing Thriller the song everywhere. It is 40 years and I still love that album. I still like to play "Beat It" when I need to get pumped or while working out. But to each his/her own.

I agree 100%..."off the wall" and "dangerous" are musically and lyrically superior to "thriller" IMO

Thats true too...im so sick of those songs...Everytime i hear Beat It or Billie Jean or Thriller, i want to punch somebody in the face...anybody...the only song on that lp that has any replay value left, is the criminally underrated and overlooked "Baby Be Mine"

I don't want to punch anyone in the face but I kind of agree. And I literally only heard the album in its entirety about a year ago. But I was already so familiar with the likes of Billie Jean and Beat It that kind of just check out whenever they come on. Baby Be Mine is also my favourite song from Thriller.

It is funny to me, because if MJ were to magically return from the dead..these songs that you are all so tired of would be the same ones sending audiences into histeria at his concerts. Especially those of us in the 40-50 and over crowd. I guess too I think of his entire work as a canon...I can't separate Thriller from say "ABC" or "Earth Song"...its all MJ. If I was tired of one, I would probably be tired of all.

I think of this song as the poor,lonely track that didn't get the attention that the other songs have gotten biggrin it's one of the two songs that never became a single,but the other one ("The Lady In My Life") at least got some airplay on R&B and quiet storm stations."Baby Be Mine" could have easily been released as a single back then.It's a great song.

I loved that song until my cousin ruined it for me. She pointed out that the line where he sings "I will love you more each day" sounds like he's saying "I will love you Morris Day" and now I can't unhear it.

"Baby Be Mine" is my fav as well.

It's basically an obscuro deep cut compared to the ubiquitious overplayed other tracks save "The Lady in My Life". If I'm around MJ fans and I bring that up they look at me like Mr. Pretentious.

MJ fans vs. Prince fans gotta have a higher tolerance for replay at the very least. Another reason I hate the comparisons, some MJ songs are like... the alphabet. Counting 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10. They're like automatic. I don't even get how people can interpret them on their own volition.

Whereas with Prince the "big hits" aren't even really that notable save 2-3.

Second fav is the "P.Y.T." demo.

When it premiered last year, it got rave reviews from the audience, though. So, just with one trailer it seems obtuse and unfair to judge it looking worse than the Spike Lee one (which was really good, btw).

I don't disagree with any of that. You're spot on.

And I'd love to see VH1 do a two-hour special or even 90-minute Classic Albums episode with Bruce, Quincy, et al breaking down those Thriller segments. Talk about a wet dream.

I feel like I've heard Thriller enough for one lifetime, unless I myself queue it up.

Most of the album has been on continuous pop/adult contemporary/80s stations since it came out, especially just coming out of Halloween with "Thriller" on heavy rotation.
