Rap Music & Strip Clubs In the '90s strip clubs became a part of the rap business with artists & producers across the country testing out singles and taking journalists there. I can recall doing interviews in ATL and going to Magic City with Jermaine Dupri, who is currently making a documentary on the club. In Florida I hung out with Trick Daddy at a strip club called Rolexxx that also had a sporting goods shop and restaurant inside. For my new CrimeReads essay "Freak On" I wrote about my experiences at a former NYC club called Medallion’s while also interviewing a former dancer named "Sparkle" who schooled me on her life as a stripper three decades ago. https://crimereads.com/fr...-in-the...

I heard that the "self made " promo of Pussy Control/319 was mostly sent to strip clubs to promote the song

From what I understood, years later, any time "the club" was a lyric, that's the type of club they meant.
