Latest LPs/CDs/Digital/Streams you discovered lately... Following on my recent Tina Turner obsession, which started two months before she passed, I got a Near Mint vinyl copy of "Nutbush City Limits," which has never been re-issued and I don't know wny. Every song on it is a gem, starting off with the title song, which I was very familiar with and a totally different version of "River Deep/Mountain High" than Phil Spector's version. It may be Ike & Tina's best IMO. The sound is fantastic. Takes me back to when I first saw and heard Tina on the Midnight Special when I was a kid at a sleepover. Couldn't stay up that late at my house. Forbidden! Their best IMO since the Blue Thumb LPs "The Hunter" and "Outta Season."

I don't think it sold very well to begin with. And from what I understand, it is more of a separated Tina album but still billed as Ike & Tina before they were officially divorced (of which he took everything). | |

That's too bad. I think it was one of her best from the 70s IMO. Loved Tina since I was a kid and first saw her with the Ike & Tina Turner Review on TV in the early 70s. "Music gives a soul to the universe, wings to the mind, flight to the imagination and life to everything." --Plato
