Am I Trippin'? (Is She The New Savior of R&B?) And she's from the most unlikely of places. Now I know one would be foolish to look for new music on a platform as defiled as the Real Housewives, but Candiace Dillard Bassett actually pulled off the impossible; she actually produced genuinely good music from this platform. Something that has been tried before to the embarrassment of many. Fan favorire Candiace is known for her pageant girl facade that masks an uncanny ability to verbally take down opponents on The Real Hosewives of Potomac, a gaggle of well to do black women residing in the posh area surrounding DC. Candiace brings a Tony Braxton vibe to her music that is sorely missed in the hip hop genre heavy influence of todays R&B scene. I find her extremely catchy, and I feel that her next project just might be the breakout that R&B and black radio deserves. Take a listen to who I feel will make a splash in the near furture. > "Drive Back" The song that started it all. https://www.youtube.com/w...CWKAzUMkRM > "Is It Enough" https://www.youtube.com/w...1hMxt4GdYw > "Insecure" Nice production here with cute input from Trina. https://www.youtube.com/w...KDNKI2Z5Ps > "Fine Whine" The next single. https://www.youtube.com/w...oeN7mXOITw > "Stay With Me" A favorite of mine, with the late great Traci Braxton. https://www.youtube.com/w...iGjNWNbh8I > "Benefits" https://www.youtube.com/w...NnEUTmttJQ > And lastly, her inexplicable origins. https://www.youtube.com/w...Q_3lDPPSsU

No...she's not the "savior" of anything...she's just an average looking, average singer, singing average songs, while trying to mimic the great Toni Braxton. | |
