The Doobie Brothers - Michael Jackson

So I just happened across a live performance of Michael McDonald singing "What A Fool Believes."

The caption stated that Michael Jackson claims to have sung on at least one backing track for the song but was uncredited.

Y'all ever heard that one?

The Wikipedia entry for the song says that Michael Jackson once joked to Elizabeth Taylor that he had sung on a backing track for the Doobie Brothers version and his joke was broadcast as fact by Entertainment Tonight, who were unaware he was joking.

So he never actually sang on the song. The Doobie Brothers themselves even denied he had any involvement.

Tres interesting. I'd never heard anything about it until this video.

Bubbles was the actual backup singer.
