Michael Jackson Cascio Tracks

I've just been listening to a bunch of these fake Michael Jackson songs on YouTube. It's from an album titled Bible or something. But it's basically a bunch of fake Michael Jackson songs with another guy singing on them. I'm sure I'm not breaking any news here because even I was already aware that these things existed. But I'd never actually heard them before. And one thing that surprised me is that some of these songs are really bloody good. Black Widow and Burn 2Nite could easily have been hits. I would gladly buy a whole album of these MJ knock offs. Why weren't these officially released?

Those 3 trash tracks were on the Michael album and were immediately suspect by the family and fans. They were later removed from streaming services I believe.

From wikipedia: "On June 29, 2022, the Jackson website spokesperson reported that 3 of the 10 tracks from the album are no longer available on YouTube, Apple Music, and Spotify as a result of a continual distraction to all listeners. A CD reissue of the album was released on September 9, 2022 that also dropped the three tracks."

And Sony never conceded that MJ didn't sing on those, probably because they want to save face. Every expert and whoever was brought it to note it wasn't his voice. I mean - why those three and not the whole album?

They're not knock-offs, they're just someone else's tracks. Period. If ol' boy Cascio had released them as himself or found a singer to sing on them, who knows - maybe they'd have been hits at some point. That goes for all the tracks his jackrabbit tried to produce.

Just as another piece of fuckery around that album, Dave Grohl was credited on it for drums. He recorded for the song, but the final release had none of his playing.

Still too many fingers in the pie. There was an MJ movie based on the book by his bodyguard. In the movie person after person come to him (he's a new hire) and says, "If you have any questions for Michael, come straight to me." Everyone thought they were the best person to be around MJ, when in fact they were all vultures. The fuck-status of that album, that Cascio guy and those tracks only proves that.

Sorry, it's the Hodgkin's talking.

I actually had a bit of an argument with my cousin over the legitimacy of those songs on the Michael album. Well, not really an argument, more like a disagreement. She was convinced that it was actually MJ and I remember her playing a bunch of songs from Invincible and other outtakes that "proved" it was really him. And I must confess that I'm certainly no expert when it comes to Michael Jackson so I just kind of conceded. But, childish though it may be, I do feel extremely vindicated now that it's been more or less proven that it wasn't him after all lol

But back to the topic on hand, I've done a bit more digging since I started this thread and I've found a few more of those Jason Malachi songs. And yeah, they're not that good at all. But I stand by my original opinion in that I would be interested in a full album by him if all the songs were specifically written and produced to sound as close to Michael Jackson's style as possible and if he did his best MJ impression for the vocals.

He'd probably get harassed by rabid MJ fans more than he already does if he put them out formally.

I get you, though, it's like Beatallica. The guy does a good fascimile. The Michael compilation tracks did get me at first. Hey, MJ's vox were askew on "2000 Watts"...

With any other artist Cascio and Malachi could've cleaned up on the tribute act circuit. Prince covers-as-MJ would've been a solid gimmick.
