Good hauls as always, Joe Bala. Found Joan Jett's first ever accoustic album that she recorded last year--I think--it is a collection of her songs from the past and it sounds terrific! Looking forward to seeng her in concert for the first time in July.

Wowsa! How did I sleep on Florence and the Machine?! I absolutely love their Dance Fever album and I had never heard any of their music before last night. Bought it in a lot--great discovery for me. I like every song on it (which doesn't happen too often anymore).

I have it on vinyl and CD of all formats. Never found the tape. Isn't that weird?

I feel old. I saw her when I was 12 in 1982 at Milton Keynes bowl opening for Queen. Others on the bill were Heart and Teardrop Explodes. She stood out to me though. She made quite the impression on this young lad! Not a bad first gig for my old Dad to take me to..

Double-post for Tina because she deserves it!

Funny how I've listened to Tina non-stop for the past month before she passed--very odd! I was so into her music I actively went looking for not only the new re-issues on vinyl but oldies. For instance, I didn't know that she put out two solo albums in the 70s after she split with Ike that didn't get much airplay apparently; one called "Rough"--with rock/country-rock/disco flavors, according to reviews and another full-fledged disco album called "Love Explosion." I managed to track down an inexpensive LP of "Rough"--her first after splitting with Ike and don't want to hear it until I get the LP.

I also tracked down a very hard to get beat up used copy of Acid Queen from the 70s--hope the vinyl sounds good!

In the meantime, my first listen to the brand new full album version of the Foreign Affair album on LP. Here's to you, Tina! Your music lives on!

Thanks, Joe Bala! Found another one--Ike & Tina called "The Hunter." Playing it now and DAMN! is it good! Tina singing the blues and R&B rough with some stellar musicians and the old vinyl is so smoooooooth it almost sounds new! Hardly any surface noise at all. Found out that their other record on the Blue Thumb label "Outta Season" is being reissued after 40 years on vinyl this month and can't wait until I get it! "The Hunter" is tha Bomb!

You guys made me revisit this one on Apple music so I could actually listen to Sacrifice of Victor. It's pretty slammin and I get now why people thought the symbols name was Victor! Only took 30 years.

Still on the trail of tracking down rare Tina Turner LPs... Just lost a bid on Ebay for two country albums she did in the 1980s to a thief who came in the last 15 seconds... Damn. And I tracked down this rare LP from the 70s that was apparently only released in Europe so I had to buy a copy off Discogs from Denmark (the only fair price I could find!). I hope it makes it here!!!

I'm obessessed with this one at the moment. Always been a fan but sorta forgot about this brilliant album. My fave live album, next to Last Waltz, Live at the Filmore, and NYE at Paisley Park '87 Can't get enough lately.

Well, the Tina Turner "Love Exploston" disco album got here form Denmark and it sounds great on my turntable. With a few exceptions, Tina could make all kinds of music sound great. Still looking for one of her country albums. Ike had her do a gospel LP also, apparently.
