S & M - "Vulgar" out in a few days.

Sam & Madonna.

I suppose as long as I don't have to look at her anymore, it could be interesting. I enjoyed Gloria quite a bit. So I'll be interested to see what buttons they attempt to push. In 2023, it's a high bar to get folks upset by a song.

I don't know. Depending on subject matter, I think it's quite easy to upset certain sections of the public these days.

Yeah, but that goes with anything. People are upset with rainbows at Target right now. So, maybe it is a low bar. And Sam will get some heat because of his recent "Unholy" performances. People are yelling that he's worshipping the devil. Yet - it's literally a visual play on the word unholy. The song is not about the devil at all. God forbid people listen to it in full.

If they think that's bad, they should see his Gloria Tour show. They're going to lose their minds.

M will also appear on several tracks on Christine & The Queens new project. Word is these are mainly spoken word appearances, she plays a key role in the theme album.

It's fun that she is taking the safe route (The Weeknd) and the dangerous route (Sam Smith) at the same time. I hope both songs are good, I'm curious to see if the GP will respond.

All I want from her is some straight up great melodic, hooky dance songs

With her, I think I am in the 'I give up' phase that I was in 1998 with Prince

I'm with you. Ray of Light really was a great record. It has aged well. I listen to it on occasion. Took me a minute to appreciate what she was doing on it, though. It's electronica, but it felt warm.

But then... American Life, Hard Candy, Rebel Heart - they're all garbage to me, and don't try to convince me otherwise. lol

Music - 50/50.

MDNA - 60/40. (the concert helped me appreciate some of the songs more)

She sorta redeemed herself with Confessions On A Dance Floor. It's a superb album.

Madame X is a bit indulgent, but there are some great moments on it. I'd rate it about the same as either Music or MDNA.

And yes I'm shaming her and any other heifer who does this, but that plastic surgery shit she was doing was just TOO much. Her attempts to be provocative or eyebrow raising come across as 100% desperate. In 2023, she's gonna have to do a lot more to get people's attention to make a statement, instead of trying to show her ass or tits on Instagram. That's it? Get an OnlyFans, show us how you fuck. Then maybe we'll have something to talk about. Maybe. tonk lol

With Prince, I gave up around 2009, but it wasn't all sunshine and roses. I hated TRC and don't try to convince me otherwise. HA. Between Musicology, 3121, and Planet Earth, there's one really, really good record. Same with Lotus and MPLSound, whittle it into one solid record.

After that, I honestly stopped looking forward to any Prince release, and felt like I was only buying records for the sake of being a Prince fan. How many times have I listened to HnR1? Once! I skimmed Plectrum, and listened to AOA maybe twice, 3x? His acrylic phase (ie: 1996 onward) was not joyous for a Prince fan.

Hit n' Run? Should've been Hit n' Miss.

The song with The Weeknd is cute! I don't like the rapper but the rest is a summer groove.

I don't hear the Hard Candy in it. But I really like the song. It feels like classic Madonna. The Weeknd has always had that retro-adjacent thing to his music; more of late. But a whole album of him producing Madonna ... shiiiiit. This is one younger, newer talent that I'd endorse her working with (opposed to some twats like Avecii (sp) or whoever she found at Burning Man in 2014).

Have Bray or Leonard co-write a handful; couple each. with The Weeknd, and Weeknd produces.

The song is a bop. I can hear Madonna doing the whole thing.

Well see it's got a modern R&B producer sooo therefore: Hard Candy 2 on deck.

Song sucked. Weeknd is very overrated. A bootleg The-Dream more like a nap.

I like this remix better smile

The Weeknd, Playboi Carti... - YouTube

pretty good.

Weeknd tracks are always improved by "80s remix". His normal production is The-Nap other than his A-Ha karaoke, remixes give him a little more uumpf.

Check out this 80s remix of "I Feel It Coming" that went mildly viral years back:

I am not the target demographic for the new collaboration with Sam Smith. I want singing/melodies not Sam Kinison as a Peloton instructor doing a Kevin Aviance impersonation.

"Vulgar" isn't really my cup of tea smile but I think it will do well with its intended audience.

"Popular" is the better of the two songs.
